I agree so much with this:
Ridiculous part is I've adopted critical thinking into my daily life & yet the skeptic community irrationally defends rapists & misogyny! :O

Part of it has been storified, but there’s a lot more in that timeline.
But that’s what drives me batty. Here’s this great cause I support whole-heartedly, and what happens? A few people are more interested in preserving their privilege and driving out people who aren’t exactly like them than in advancing that cause.
Is TAM still happening? I suppose the libertarian, white privileged, misogynist pseudo-skeptics need somewhere to be chummy with each other.
TAM won’t die until it’s just Penn Jillette and Michael Shermer sitting in a room patting eachother on the back. Then Shermer will leave because there are no women.
Can I just say that Kav P is amazing? I think that’s left unsaid.
I read Flim Flam in the 1980s, and even though I was still a devout Mormon it really opened my mind. It’s tragic that these people can’t apply their much vaunted skepticism to the terrible arguments they use to defend their own privilege.
And now it seems many of them are taking lessons in morality from Shermer …
From SF fandom to skepticism to the tech industry, it seems that libertarians are always looking to turn everything good into a shithole.
I was done with Shermer when I learned he was a libertarian because you’re not much of a skeptic if you readily swallow magic fairy dust-based economic dogma but having since learned about the rape allegations – just no.

A better definition of libertarianism could not be expressed.
Didn’t CPAC already happen?
