It used to be that The Young Turks was a progressive voice, though a problematic one, given the sexism and Armenian genocide denial by Cenk Uygur in the past. Lately, however, many are asking what has happened to them. Both Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur has made anti-trans remarks, and Ana has come strongly out against the homeless.
This has led to 10 of the moderators of The Young Turks youtube channel to resign – they have written an open resignation letter.
There’s this metric I’ve used in deciding who I want to watch, to listen to, on political issues. Do they seem like they genuinely care, or are they just scoring points, treating it as a game? TYT are classic nu-atheist fuckbros who were always there for laughs and point-scoring. Their personalities put me off back well over ten years ago, so I have little to be disappointed about now.
That said, since they’re part of YT’s “leftosphere” they’re poisoning the recs of the least thoughtful person in my household, so I hope she doesn’t get any wack ideas off of them. I doubt it’ll be an issue though; these ideas are pretty obviously shit, even to fools.
