I am looking for the names of some good freethinking/atheist/skeptic Tumblr pages. My criteria for “good” are centred more around quality of management than quality of content (Tumblr being more of a great grab-bag for a lot of diverse kinds of things). Surely some of you either read atheist Tumblrs or run one yourself. I am looking for some solid recommendations.
Help a brotha out?

Sorry only tumblr I can think of that you might even be interested in is the daily otter and it stopped being a tumblr about a month ago…
…The only tumblrs I follow are completely unrelated to any of those subjects.
Only one I know of: http://religiousragings.tumblr.com/
Some “faces” blogs: http://facesofatheists.tumblr.com/, http://facesofatheists.tumblr.com/, http://facesofatheists.tumblr.com/.
A really good content collector with an affinity for christmas decorations: http://atheistxmas.tumblr.com/
And http://andythenerd.tumblr.com/. Xe focuses more on queer and gender issues, but I think it’s great.

If you’re in to magic: the gathering, the head designer answers shittons of questions every day.
Don’t want to seem too self-promo-y, but I figured I’d repeat here, (hopefully?) for the benefit of other readers, the link to a list of other skeptic tumblrs that I tweeted at you earlier.

SkepTV being my very small contribution to he skeptical tumbl-sphere.
My favorite is The Frogman.
He mostly posts funny things (reblogs and hilarious originals). Most of his posts aren’t freethought related, but he has some good ones on occasion. Here’s one of my favorites.
Here’s another good one.
You may like logicianmagician. He mostly posts sciencey stuff with a trend towards skepticism.

I tried tumblr, honestly I did. I had one for a couple years, just deleted it yesterday as a matter of fact.
It’s like they took what was good about blogs, took what was good about twitter, threw those things out and combined what was left.
Not talking about the content, just the platform.
It also sucks if you want your stuff to actually show up in Google searches.
At 32 I feel sometimes as if I am too old to “get” Tumblr, even though I was a rather early adopter of the interwebz. I just have a hard time understanding it. Also, there is so much NSFW content (not that I am against such content) that it makes it very limited to when I can view.
I’ve yet to find decent content regarding atheism/skepticism. There seem to be a lot of good feminist memes that go around there, but I usually just catch those as something has been reposted a bazillion times.

If I can expand the definition to include sciencey stuff, there’s at least a couple tumblrs that exist at the intersection of science, art, and design that are quite awesome:
http://fuckyeahartandscience.tumblr.com/
http://freshphotons.tumblr.com/
The one that I’ve found that is the most active with pictures, captures of cell phones, memes, quotes, etc. is:
http://atheist-overdose.tumblr.com/
By the time you get to about page 300, you’ve seen lots of duplicates. But posts come in several times a day. No intellectual conversations, but lots of laughs and groans.

http://deconversionmovement.tumblr.com/
And my favourite!
http://helvetebrann.tumblr.com/
You’re reading Yo, Is This Racist already, right? http://yoisthisracist.com/
Also:
http://shortformblog.com/
http://ilovecharts.tumblr.com/
http://fashiondollsnoir.tumblr.com/
http://inothernews.tumblr.com/
Two of those are political/news blogs, but their commentary can be interesting, and they’re good aggregators of news I might have missed.
I pretty much only look at tumblr for cute and/or funny pictures.
Ooh, ooh, one more:
http://literallyunbelievable.org/
Seems to be down at the moment, but they collect screenshots of dumb people on Facebook mistaking Onion stories for real news.
Bonus! Andrew Ti of YITR is a vocal atheist (though he seems unaware of the larger atheist community, or its issues (Link is cached, since Tumblr seems to be down)).
I have yet to figure out tumblr, which is why I was so elated when Zinnia Jones started blogging here.
Can’t. the sorts of tumblrs you describe that I follow don’t match your interests, like omgthatdress and otherworldly and nailasuarus. I very much prefer the no-theme general not-quality tumblrs of people to the limited themed ones.
