Got some new drugs, and a couple of injections, oh boy.
I’m kind of perverse, I really enjoy seeing knives and needles applied to my own flesh (but not to other people’s, I get squeamish about that). So this morning I got to watch as I got some local steroid injections.
If you’re uncomfortable at the sight of needles, stop here.
Now my foot is locked into a boot, and it gets to stay that way for a few days. I’m just hoping for some relief soon.

Please give an update on how well the steroid injections work. I have an appointment in a couple weeks to get my torn SI joint looked at, and I’m hoping I can get a cortisone shot. I’ve been crippled since early July and I’m really sick of it.

Wow, that IS one swollen foot. Hope relief comes soon, PZ!

Nah, it’s much better. Last week it was twice that size.
I don’t know if it hurt — I go into a zone when I get needle sticks.

Is it made for walking?

I visited my 90-year-old dad last week, and saw him the first time without shoes on. I was about to comment on how horribly swollen they looked, and then my brother in law commented at how great they looked. I guess I missed how much more swollen they were previously. So, I can understand how much better they can be, but it does still look pretty swollen. Hopefully the injections help.

Me, seeing the needle: Welp, that’s enough internet for today, thank you…. 😳

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

If you haven’t done so already, check out getting what is called a “knee scooter”. I used one when my ruptured Achilles tendon was healing, and it was great for getting around.
