Ah, Sandy explains why the wind has been from the north the last few days. Its circulation even reaches the Great Lakes.

It’s so lovely, all this information. You can tell where all the weather is by these lines in and out.
I wish there was a map for that great wind-storm last November. It was epic.

I like the design. Do they say how the projections are calculated?
is it just wind speed vectors mapped out, or?

Ichthyic: They use NOAA surface wind monitoring stations, but at for the program that compiles the data, I’m not sure.

I was not sure how this was going to play out up here in Ottawa but I was just out taking some photos and was forced to come back inside due to the wind. It is gusting between 40-60 km/h now causing my tripod bag to run away from me and I feared for my camera’s safety during long exposures as it felt like it might topple over during some of the gusts.
Not that the weather is that bad, I was just not quite sure how much we would feel and was surprised by how gusty it was.
