Stop playing with wee-wees and start playing with rockets

Bored and no doubt mostly male missile defense techs have been caught with their hands in the virtual cookie jar, or maybe they’ve just spend too much time thinking about missile shaped objects penetrating virgin airspace under the cover of darkness. But US defense techs have been told to thinking about hitting that on taxpayer time, when that is not a tactical or strategic target for nukes:

Fudzilla — Porn surfing has apparently become such a concern that Missile Defense Agency Executive Director John James Jr. warned employees and contractors against engaging in inappropriate use of the MDA network.

“These actions are not only unprofessional, they reflect time taken away from designated duties, are in clear violation of federal and DoD and regulations, consume network resources and can compromise the security of the network though the introduction of malware or malicious code,” he wrote.

All kidding aside, it is a serious security threat. I don’t remember the details, but a cyber security expert I knew in Florida relayed a tale to me over drinks about a DoD site or related company getting hacked by a consultant showing how easy it was, and the vector used was free porn. The link for free porn was spammed into the network, but users had to set up an account using an active email address and password, being idiots some of them used their work email and passwords. The hacker was able to use that info to compromise a zillionaire dollar secured network. Or something like that, I don’t know how accurate the story was or if I got it right.
