Holidays!

Usually, I hibernate during the holidays, and use them as an excuse to unplug, not talk to anyone, and pretend that I’m busy.

I used to decline one christmas invitation after another, pleading “my social calendar for this holiday season is nuts!” when, in fact, I planned to spend the holiday at home in my bathrobe, drinking hot cider with cinammon whiskey in it, playing Skyrim. If I did it right, everyone assumed I was busy with everyone else, and nobody figured out the truth. Bah, humbug!

This year I’ll be taking some downtime, staying away from the internet, and experimenting with cooking scallop har gow dumplings from scratch, repairing my gaming computer (which suffered a random Windows-10 gratuitous existence failure that required me to reset the operating system and lose the entire system software configuration) and I’ll probably get stuck into Fallout 4, which I somehow overlooked playing in the last few years.

Since my forge is down for the duration, I can’t go make something – and I really don’t feel like it, since everything is cold and wet. I’m just going to take the rest of the week off, unless there’s a cyber-disaster or something that particularly requires comment.

Until then, I wish you all the best. Merry feast of the pig!

    Have a good break Marcus.

We shall do what we have done for years, which is nothing in particlar, I’ve a batch of cinammon butter that needs finishing off so if I don’t get to it tonight I’ll be doing that tomorrow.

@1: Bezos is working hard to fulfill Verhoeves prophecy made in Robocop. A collaboration with Musks Neuralink will try and fail to create a real Robocop by the end of the decade.

Marcus have nice and quiet holidays!

If I was on my own, I would probably skip xmas altogether, but since my wife gets into it big time, I defer to her. But I would still look forward to some classic movies like “Miracle on 34th St.” (which is now only shown on Disney+ since they now own the rights, damn them), “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “A Christmas Carol” with George C. Scott. Then I would play my favorite xmas record, ” A Medieval Christmas” by the Boston Camarata. Throw in some Gregorian chant and a cup of hot tea and all is right with my world. Just wish I could make everyone’s world right. Anyway, peace to all.

How long did it take you to get bored of Fallout 4?

About an hour. What a crap game. I kept hoping it would get better.

I’ve tried that, and then people ask “are you OK?” It’s easier to just redirect things politely. Lies are the glue that holds the social fabric together, or something.

Fallout 4 is so disappointing. I swear there is a core of a decent game there, but they decided not to make that.

Sadly i have a congenital defect that makes me a terrible liar :P
