Baxter the Wonder Dog (2005-2021)

He was a truly wonderful dog, gentle, affectionate, and playful, and I loved him dearly. I am lucky to have had him as part of my life for so long and losing him is very painful to bear.

I need to take a break from blogging for a couple of days.

I feel your loss. Our dog, Max, passed away last fall. 13 years with him were not near enough.

Sad for you, but happy Baxter had a good long doggy life.

    Commiserations and sympathy.

So sorry, Mano. Hope you feel better soon.

Man, it’s been a rough enough year without these losses — first Jack, and now Baxter.

Very sorry to hear this, Mano. Losing a pet is hard. The only time I’ve ever seen my father cry is when our cat died.

Nooo! That’s so sad. But also: you made a little friend happy for 16 years. I hope that is some comfort to you.

There is no doubt in my mind that you provided a loving and caring home. Mourn your loss as you must but hold your head high. You did yourself, and Baxter, proud. Baxter had a good life. A life you provided. In return Baxter clearly loved you very dearly. He will live on in your heart.

That’s about as good as it gets.

I am very sorry to hear that Mano. Just know that you brought as much joy to Baxter’s life as he did to yours.

    My condolences.
I remember how devastated I was when our family’s dog had to be put down whilst I was away at University. Despite knowing of the decision soon after it happened, it didn’t really hit me until I went home for (mid-term?) break, and he wasn’t there…

Metaphorically speaking, dogs take a piece of your heart when they go, but they leave you a piece of their own heart. Baxter loved you and knew you loved him. In time the pain of his death will lessen and leave you with all the good memories.

Don’t know what to say other than sorry for your loss and thanks for sharing some some of the Adventures of Mano and Baxter the Wonder Dog.

My condolences. We also lost our Max to cancer a couple of weeks ago and it’s incredibly sad and painful. Something that helped us was getting a call, two days after his passing, from the same rescue were we got him and adopting a beautiful, loving puppy. He is a collie as was Max and has many demeanors that remind us of him.

Very sad to know the passing of Baxter. I have been fortunate in knowing him during my visits and he was very cute and lovable and the whole family adored him so can imagine the grief. He had a good long life and now resting in peace.

It always feels so trite when all I can offer is words. I am sorry for your loss. Baxter looks like such a gorgeous dog.
