I timed this post for noon on January 20th to celebrate the end of the Donald Trump presidency.
There will be many things that the Biden-Harris administration will do in the days to come that will enrage me but I want to savor this sweet moment for just a little while.

The international ones will continue; let’s start with Yemen and the American drone attacks on its civilians.. Given the unpleasant fact that JoeB is competent while Donald the Clown was not also the probability of another American invasion has increased. Plus JoeB will not nearly enough to dampen climate change.

@cr #5, I have been in a crowd that could only clap on 2 and 4 (i.e., groove) when they were led into it. The tune was “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga, which is not exactly challenging.
I know this because I was sitting next to the piano (this was at a talent show). When the contestant got to the chorus I began clapping because he was giving it his all and I thought he deserved the encouragement. I sing in a band, so of course I was clapping with the groove. The rest of the crowd joined in just fine.
People stop clapping for verses, as it should be. When the chorus came round again I didn’t intentionally lead the clapping in loudly, figuring that the crowd had gotten the idea from the first chorus. I was wrong. They came in on the 1 and 3, i.e. not grooving.
This was at a Mensa national gathering, so I remain uncertain if the problem was overwhelming age or overwhelming whiteness. Mensa has both.
Numenaster, nah. The problem is people like you that imagine there’s a “right” and a “wrong” way to clap.
