When it comes to placing restrictions on abortion, Ohio has the dubious honor of proposing the wildest ideas to the point of even demanding the impossible. Take the latest bill introduced in the state legislature.
A bill to ban abortion introduced in the Ohio state legislature requires doctors to “reimplant an ectopic pregnancy” into a woman’s uterus – a procedure that does not exist in medical science – or face charges of “abortion murder”.
This is the second time practising obstetricians and gynecologists have tried to tell the Ohio legislators that the idea is currently medically impossible.
…Ohio’s move on ectopic pregnancies – where an embryo implants on the mother’s fallopian tube rather than her uterus rendering the pregnancy unviable – is one of the most extreme bills to date.
“I don’t believe I’m typing this again but, that’s impossible,” wrote Ohio obstetrician and gynecologist Dr David Hackney on Twitter. “We’ll all be going to jail,” he said.
But that is not the only dangerously idiotic idea in the bill.
In addition to ordering doctors to do the impossible or face criminal charges, House Bill 413 bans abortion outright and defines a fertilized egg as an “unborn child”.
It also appears to punish doctors, women and children as young as 13 with “abortion murder” if they “perform or have an abortion”. This crime is punishable by life in prison. Another new crime, “aggravated abortion murder”, is punishable by death, according to the bill.
Ohio: Leading the way in legislative callousness and stupidity.
I guess that Ohio will need to expand the number of prisons for women dramatically if that bill passes. And figure out a way to judge several million women for murder one month after it has passed.
Why stop there?
Ohio house bill 413a: Any EMT on discovery of an abortion performed must reimplant the aborted embryo into the uterus from whence it came, or if the mother is deceased, into the nearest fertile female. The EMT cannot presume the embryo is deceased without the qualified medical judgements of five attending doctors and a member of the house. If the procedure is unsuccessful and/or the embryo is not carried to term, the punishment is life imprisonment. Failure to attempt the procedure is punishable by death..
Ohio house bill 413b: All forms of birth control, including both withdrawal and the rhythm method, are outlawed. Punishable by life imprisonment.
Ohio house bill 413c: Ejaculation outside of a vagina is outlawed. Punishable by life imprisonment unless the offender is of decent character, eg. Practising Christian, Republican, Rich.
Ohio house bill 413d: Attempts to prevent intercourse (eg. by “victim” obstructing her rapist) are outlawed. Punishable by life imprisonment. The crimes “rape” and “sexual assault” shall be removed from the statute books.
Ohio house bill 413e: Anything even slightly gay-looking is totally outlawed, unless the offender is of decent character etc. Punishable by death.
Ohio house bill 413f: Reinstatement of Jus primae noctis.

Seems to me that Ohio Republicans are following our president’s lead by throwing insane shit at the wall to hide the really insidious actions they’re taking to increase their personal wealth.
What seems to be a common guess is what the thugs are really up to with these absurd, over-the-top, and/or impossible or unenforceable abortion laws is for a case to wind up in the Supreme Court, in the belief that would lead to a weakening or revocation of the Rose v Wade decision.
