Begin the countdown to the genital identification

Kimberly Guilfoyle is a Fox News personality who has abruptly left the network. She has also revealed that she is dating Donald Trump’s son Don Jr. who is in the process of divorcing his wife. Although she implied that she was leaving voluntarily because of the relationship and that she might be working for the White House in some capacity, there are now reports that she was forced out for misconduct.

Guilfoyle’s departure was initially billed as her decision. However, as HuffPost first reported last week, multiple sources said she did not leave the network voluntarily. They said Guilfoyle was informed her time at Fox News was up following a human resources investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior including sexual misconduct, and that her lawyers had been involved since the spring.

Multiple sources told HuffPost that Guilfoyle’s exit from Fox News, where she had worked since 2006, came after her alleged inappropriate workplace behavior could no longer be tolerated by the network. Vanity Fair, which broke the story about Guilfoyle leaving the network, and The Daily Beast, which reported that Fox News staff allegedly waged a “hostile whisper campaign” against Guilfoyle, have said she crossed the line by using network makeup artists for personal outings, but the accusations Guilfoyle faced were much more serious.

Six sources said Guilfoyle’s behavior included showing personal photographs of male genitalia to colleagues (and identifying whose genitals they were), regularly discussing sexual matters at work and engaging in emotionally abusive behavior toward hair and makeup artists and support staff.

So of course the big question that is now being discussed is: Whose genitals was she forcing her co-workers to look at? Josh Marshall thinks that they belong to her boyfriend Don, Jr.

It seems only a matter of time before these photos surface in public, like the photos of Anthony Weiner, even though such things are the last things anyone needs to see.

I must say that my mind boggles at news items such as these. What would drive someone to send out photos of their genitals? And what kind of person would then show photos of those genitals to friends and co-workers?

Clearly I am not abreast of current social mores. I really need to get out more. On second thoughts, maybe not.

    I am reminded of a story about a female devotee of porn films who claimed to be able to identify the male stars solely on the basis of their genitalia. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

    @machineintelligence:

    The way that I heard that story (if it is indeed the same one) is that a porn actor who had made many movies with many costars was able to accurately identify the costars from penis pictures only. That seems a bit more believable to me as well, but maybe these are different people.

    @mano,

    It’s not absolutely necessary that the pictures were texted/tweeted/sent in order to end up on Guilfoyle’s phone. Many years ago I had a dating partner who encouraged me to take photos of her in the nude “to remember her by” when she was leaving to go to her university. I took the pics myself with a digital camera and never sent them over the internet. OTOH, I hear these days that messaging pics of your junk is all the rage, so I’m not saying that you’re wrong to assume that’s how Guilfoyle got those pics.

    As for whose junk, I agree that we really shouldn’t care. We SHOULD care, however, that someone fired for sexually inappropriate behavior at work gets immediately hired into the presidential administration of her boyfriend’s dad. This is the worst kind of nepotism. She’s proved that she’s not merely unqualified, but disqualified from holding the vast majority of jobs, including any job at the White House. Nepotism picking the barely qualified over the expert on the basis of these types of relationships is bad enough. Nepotism picking out someone clearly disqualified from any job of trust merely because your kid is having sex with that person should be a major story. That story might need to mention why she got fired, but there’s no need to ID the genitals to point out that Trump’s behavior in hiring Guilfoyle is dangerously misguided.

    Yet not only will we get pundits speculating on the ID of the genitals, we’ll get zero serious stories in WaPo or the NYT that declares this misconduct worthy of congressional hearings and of firing anyone in the WH HR department who approved this hire. Seriously, they should have resigned en masse for this.

    As for whether it’s enough on its own to warrant impeachment and conviction, and thus the removal from office of an elected president, I might be convinced to say no. But if HR has any role at the White House, it should at minimum include protecting existing WH employees from sexual harassment. Guilfoyle can’t meet the minimum standard of reliably avoiding harassing conduct. WH employees should have declined to process her hiring paperwork.

    Sure, the pics displayed might be of Don Jr’s junk. That would be ‘plain vanilla’ for this twisted White House, first family, and these times. But perhaps, it seems irresponsible not to speculate, the pictures might be Donald Trump Sr’s little willie. Wouldn’t that just be a corker?

    It doesn’t seem entirely unlikely. The rake has a self-admitted lack of control around beautiful women, his betrayals of his wives are well documented, and it has been reported that these might join a ever growing collection of portraiture of his little head and sexual performances associated with him. Stormy has mentioned some pictures and the Russian ‘pee tapes’ seem to be related.

    I think there needs to be an investigation.
