Regular readers of this blog may remember my writing about the hue and cry raised by two social media celebrities Alissa Violet (real last name is Butler) and Ricky “FaZe” Banks (real name Richard Bengston) who claimed that they had been sexually harassed and assaulted by the security guards at a Cleveland bar known as Barley House over the Thanksgiving weekend. The couple’s many devoted followers, who call themselves the CloutGang, threatened vengeance against Barley House and anyone else whom they thought had done anything to their idols.

In response, Barley House put out their own video that seemed to show that if any assault had occurred, it happened between patrons on the street after the bar had closed and the security guards withdrawn inside. I am sure that at least one or two of you who do not live in Cleveland and get news from here are eager to know what happened afterwards.

At that time, I said that I did not expect it to end there and that the couple would put out another video. Sure enough, Banks/Bengston did post a new video that made the CloutGand lose their collective tops once again. As a result of new threats received by Barley House, they had to close early on Tuesday night.

But it turns out that in putting out the new video, Banks/Bengston may have violated a confidentiality order imposed on all parties. This order was part of a defamation lawsuit by Barley House against the couple, along with a restraining order imposed on them. US District Judge Dan Polster has ordered Banks/Bengston to remove the video and appear in court on January 4 to explain why he should not be cited for contempt.
