Hillary Clinton is on a book tour to promote her new memoir. As is her custom, she is charging high prices for the privilege of listening to her and rich people get to get close to her by paying a higher price. Given the fact that her practice of selling access haunted her during the campaign, and that surely she must not need money anymore given her wealth, why she keeps feeding the image of being greedy is incomprehensible.
She also seems intent on litigating the last election over and over again and finding reasons for her not becoming president. In the book, she apparently variously blames her election loss on the Russians, James Comey, Anthony Weiner, and now Bernie Sanders, and who known whom else.
Seth Meyers says that she is looking in the wrong direction. In the process, Meyers explained something that has puzzled me and that is why the Pokemon Go craze seemed to disappear as fast as it appeared.

Well, the effects of Russian meddling can be argued, but there definitely was meddling and Trump definitely was in on it. Equating that with conspiracy theories is frankly a load of bullshit.
Seems perfectly comprehensible to me. There are two reasons:
(1) she is greedy.
(2) she doesn’t give a fuck what you think.
Those two facts, taken together, explain everything. They also, incidentally, explain why she lost the election AND why she still doesn’t “get it” about why that happened. How else can you possibly explain this quote from the book? “What makes me such a lightning rod for fury? I’m really asking. I’m at a loss. I think it’s partly because I’m a woman,”. She’s at a loss. She literally can’t think of anything, other than the easy, kneejerk steretype-of-an-SJW option of “Is it because I is a wimmin?”. Benghazi and Goldman Sachs apparently don’t even cross her mind.
Well, she also has a go at Joe Biden and Barack Obama, because heaven forbid anyone on her own side escape some blame… except Bill, of course. She remained married to a philanderer and alleged serial rapist, but he escapes any blame for her troubles.
The reason, the one reason, that Trump is President right now is not the electoral college, not the Russians, not James Comey, Anthony Weiner, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden or Barack Obama.
It is that fucking woman and her persistent entitled cluelessness.
Worst. Candidate. Ever. (And don’t even try to argue against that characterisation. She lost. To Trump.)
Also worthy of comment: she is at least as delusional as Trump. He keeps getting it in the neck (rightly) for saying things that are almost comedically in disagreement with reality, things that contradict easily observable facts, and even contradict himself. Meanwhile:
“I go back over my own shortcomings and the mistakes we made. I take responsibility for all of them. You can blame the data, blame the message, blame anything you want – but I was the candidate. It was my campaign. Those were my decisions.”
It is also her decision to blame, in the very same book, basically everyone else in the world. “It take full responsibility, but it was HIS fault, HE was to blame.”
Follow on from another post a couple of days ago: memo to Erin Gloria Ryan -- forget Louise Linton. There’s absolutely no way she can compete for the title of “the woman in America who should shut up the most” while Hillarity Clinton is drawing breath.

I might add (3): Clinton is done with politics. She’s made two runs for the Presidency, there won’t be a third, and she doesn’t seem interested in being a Senator anymore. I doubt she will be asked to be a part of any future administration (and would she take the position if she was?).
So why not feed at that trough as long as they’ll keep slopping in the dough?

@Tabby Lavalamp: I am assuming you left off a [sarcasm] tag. The woman is 69 years old, and she has a personal net worth (based on Public Financial Disclosure reports) of over $31 million. Her husband has a net worth of $80 million. She made $5m from book royalties alone in 2014. How much would be “enough” to finance a dignified retirement, would you think?
Probably some of those royalties came in part from her book “It Takes A Village”. You may remember it as the one in which she talks openly about the black slaves who worked in the Governors mansion, a “longstanding tradition” which “kept down costs”. Obviously she was apprehensive of these black men in their twenties and thirties, but they enforced rules strictly and even became friendly with a few of them. I wonder if any of them still write?
“Literally any other candidate than Clinton would have won not only the popular vote but the electoral college as well” isn’t very convoluted, and I and many others find it convincing. Your mileage may vary, obvs.

I take it back, it apparently requires no reasoning at all.
You don’t regard looking at the evidence of the polls, which pronounced Clinton the single most unpopular candidate in living memory, possibly ever, as “reasoning”? I wonder what might. (The same polls showed Trump as second most unpopular ever. I bet he didn’t like that, he likes to be top at everything.)
I might also point out that, almost uniquely among recent candidates, Clinton had had the opportunity to change the electoral college system if she/her party didn’t like it. You might even think after the nonsense of 2000, when Al Gore won the popular vote but didn’t make President, that they might have perhaps considered that a lesson and done something about it. Clearly the Democrats were completely happy with the system going into the election.

I didn’t claim that there was no Russian interference, but that it was not the crucial factor in Trump’s win.
