Governor Rick Scott of Florida, a truly odious person who has cut health and other services to the people of Florida as part of his pro-oligarchy agenda, went to a Starbucks for a cup of coffee and got such an earful from a woman who was there that he beat a quick retreat without getting his order.
A voice at the end says ‘sweet’ to the outspoken woman Cara Jenkins, who later said that several people came up to her and thanked her. I like the way that Jenkins brushes off the aide who tries to protect Scott, saying “I’m not talking to you”.

I doubt it makes any difference, Scott is a grifter who made his millions ripping of Medicaid and Medicare. Primarily by up-coding and billing for items not delivered. He got lucky with his timing because just as the government was about to prosecute him Reagan got into office while spouting off about how the good honest businessmen of the nation were being oppressed by government regulations and oversight.
Scott, through a series of contributions that allowed him to make contacts, pointed out that his prosecution might tend to put the lie to Reagan’s rhetoric. Yes, he was a crook, but a crook willing to contribute to the conservative cause and help them out. In the end the corporation Scott managed was made to pay some of their ill gotten gains back and pay a fine, but Scott, who was by all accounts hip-deep is promoting and perpetuating the fraud to maximize his own income was allowed to claim he had no knowledge of or reason to know about any of it. This line of denial would become something of a trend when Reagan claimed to not know about he Iran-Contra deal and the term “plausible deniability” became a touchstone within the conservative lexicon.
It can be assumed that Scott has, long ago, had his conscience surgically removed.
