Robert Greenwald is a documentary filmmaker who has produced some excellent feature length documentaries that have exposed Fox News, Wal-Mart, and the Iraq war. He also produces short pieces through his own company called Brave New Foundation.
He has released a short video of children whose deaths, unlike those of past week, we do not talk about because they are the victims of US drone strikes. (Warning: Some graphic images of dead children.)
The real murdered children we don’t talk about are the victims of abortion. Instead of focusing on the tragedy of 27 children, why not focus on the millions who are killed every year in abortion clinics?

Little lumps of tissue do not a child make. You are also wrong when you seem to think it is any of your business. Don’t like abortion? Don’t have one.

How do you compare the value of a blastocyst or embryo versus a four year old? Which is of greater value in your mind or in the mind of that thing up in the sky that you claim to pray to?

Lately, there have been a lot of religious loons polluting the comment pool. Or a few repeat trolls creating multiple accounts.
This is, of course, to say nothing of the children killed in more “conventional” bombing as well. Or through any other varieties of means. The U.S. has a lot of civilian blood on their hands from these wars. Not like it seems to particularly care, what with the acceptance of preemptive strikes, torture, detainment without trial, etc. etc. It seems we are trying our damnedest to become clear villains on the world stage, basically.
If you can “murder” as a function of maintaining your own bodily autonomy, “murder” by giving yourself medicine, “murder” by having surgery on yourself , then that is the most justifiable homicide I can imagine, really. At, very least, the most understandable manslaughter.
As for conflating the bombing and shooting of thinking, feeling children with women ending the lives of unconscious, unthinking, unfeeling fetuses inside of said women : Fuck off. Fetal Rights Advocates use such a conflation as an axiom. But children and fetuses are not equivalent. And we know that even you know this, because you and your ilk don’t give a fuck about miscarriages, which claim the lives of an equal number of “pre-born children” . Disingenuous bullshitter.
Americans are oblivious to the mass deaths of foreign children for the same reason they are oblivious to foreign children working for slave wages: they benefit from others’ misery, whether access to oil, iphones, nike shoes or walmat t-shirts. Is it any wonder the 9/11 hijackers wanted others to experience the same misery?
As long as the deaths of foreign children are “Out of sight, out of mind”, no one will care. Remember Madeleine Albright saying “We think the price is worth it” about the deaths of 500,000 Iraqi kids, thanks to sanctions? It’s only when their own kids get hurt that Americans get upset.

See, these 178 children are real children, who loved and were loved. They aren’t tiny collections of undifferentiated cells with no capacity for sense or emotion. They played and they laughed and then they died.
But I guess they’re not important because, after all, there are only 178 of them and every sperm is sacred.
I’ve always considered masturbation to be mass murder. And also, every time a woman menstruates a life has ended because it wasn’t given what it needed to continue.
In a hypothetically totally moral world, women would have more babies than menstrual periods, from the time of their first period. The churches are OK with sex with children based on their vigorous defense of priests engaged in that practice.
Where do these church going anti-abortion hypocrites come down on caring only for the intrauterine post conception children, ignoring the right to life of the preconceived and post uterine children?

In terms of other senseless deaths, we know that about 2,700 teens die from driving cars every year in the US.
According to the CDC:
“In 2010, about 2,700 teens in the United States aged 16–19 were killed and almost 282,000 were treated and released from emergency departments for injuries suffered in motor-vehicle crashes.
Young people ages 15-24 represent only 14% of the U.S. population. However, they account for 30% ($19 billion) of the total costs of motor vehicle injuries among males and 28% ($7 billion) of the total costs of motor vehicle injuries among females.”
