    They do something similar in Seattle: corporations will pay money to “buy” one of a limited number of slots, then commission an artist to decorate it. The art goes on display for a short time with a plaque naming the corporation and artist. Nutcrackers are done in December, and there used to be (haven’t seen them in a while) Easter bunnies in the month leading up to Easter.

    It’s kind of fun, track down each one.

    I thought they did pigs one year in Seattle, in honor of Rachel, the Market Pig. And if you go to Walla Walla, you can see big fancy onions decorating downtown.
