Boots’ end

Over two weeks ago, I spotted a pair of boots abandoned in a parking lot. I’ve been keeping an eye on them — they’ve been there all this time, but I’ve seen them moved around every once in a while.

Their saga is almost over, I’m sad to report.

Farewell on your journey to the landfill!

Yes, this was exactly the phenomenon I was talking about in my reply to your original post! Fascinating watching them move around, isn’t it? Kinda like the Sailing Stones of Death Valley. ;)

Thirty-five-year old indie rock to play the pair out on the last stage of their journey:

Why were those boots left there?
CLEARLY the Rapture happened, and nobody noticed because it was only a few poor people that got Raptured.

The rest of us are stuck on this Planet of the Damned, with evil demons running the place, including The Prince of Lies squatting in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

    Well, that’s what I’ll tell any fundie-types I encounter.

Is it too late to mention that an attempt to clean up the parking lot would have turned out to be bootless?

Just curious when I see the picture, how is the situation regarding recycling of household waste in the US? In Europe it is now widely common that e.g., paper/cardboard, plastic, organic waste, etc. are collected seperately; I have for example four different waste bins.

Just one bin here. And I don’t believe that the company doing the collecting has the labor to do any sorting, and I think it all goes into the same landfill.

Thanks PZ. Not that I believe that everything I separate will end up properly recycled, but still it is better than “one bin & landfill” which we also had of course in the past.

I envision PZ waking up and not noticing those boots tightly up against the ceiling corner barely visible as he sits up in bed. As PZ walks underneath he sees evil cat headbanging against the attic door. Hail King Paimon!
