For this day of social media glitches, we thank you, O Lord

Twitter is back up, which gives me mixed feelings. At least I am grateful that Elon Musk is once again exposed as an incompetent manager. How many more times must that happen before his legion of worshipful fans realize it?

Another blessed event: YouTube has banned Kent Hovind! His KentHovindOfficial channel has been shut down, all of his videos erased. Hallelujah! To add insult to injury, he briefly appeared to complain about his deletion, and then urged everyone to go to his second channel, Dinosaur Adventure Land…then that was wiped out and deleted! Ah, such sweet schadenfreude.

There is still work to be done. Matt Powell, his mini-me, still has his MattPowellOfficial channel, which he can use to trumpet hate. Amusingly, Powell just recently left Dinosaur Adventure Land to return to his ‘ministry’ in Michigan. Hovind had a little farewell party in which he suggested Powell could return in a few years to take over DAL, clearly offering to make him his heir…and in the video, Powell flatly said no. Poor Kent. Abandoned. Denied. In public.

I guess it was Whack-a-Creationist Day.

    But there are so many other YouTubers who rely on his inane BS to provide content for their own channels. SciManDan, Logicked, SirSic, PlanarWalk, Genetically Modified Atheist. What will they do without little Kenty to kick around? Well don’t worry, the stupidity of the internet is both broad and deep. There’s plenty of stupid to go around. Maybe Roger from Mud Fossil University will finally get his due. Nature abhors a vacuum after all.

    I think it was Hovind’s call to execute sodomites, as the bible commands, that finally did him in. He tried to walk it back by saying it was the government’s duty to kill its own citizens and that no-one should take the law into their own hands, but you know how many murderous fuckwits there are out there.

    rich@8 i’ve never watched the shit myself but i somehow doubt crowder has never said anything equally death threat-ish. conservatives always get away with calling queers pedophiles, which is equally likely to get us killed. not to defend murderous homophobes, but hypocritical unevenly applied restrictions on a platform feel like an insulting performance.

    @5 John Morales – My browser supports HTML, but I saw no link in your post. I always just key in the full URL as text here and it always shows up and works. REF.: @14 URL shown there as text works fine. Mark-up syntax has become a tower of babel on different platforms and sites.

    I think it’s just like R. Farina (a detective on Law and Order years ago) used to get in to secret places and see secret documents. He would say, “It’s O.K. we’re authorized!” People try to use ‘Official’ as a magic word in too many places, today.
