Hey, politicians, thanks for the incessant reminders!

You get an email that starts with this sentence:

I hope you’re enjoying the Halloween festivities tonight with the family and aren’t being bombarded by too many election ads.

Can you guess what it is?

A. A note from a friend.
B. A family member exasperated with all the election ads they’re getting.
C. An invitation to a Halloween party.
D. An election ad. Give me money!

Everyone who answered “D” is awarded 1000 bronze quatloos. Everyone else needs to wake up to reality.

Don’t worry if you got it wrong, it’s one week until the election, and you’ll be getting lots to practice discernment on.

wzrd1 gets a win for a quadruple post…almost like donation pleas from Warnock.

I get so many emails soliciting political donations, it really irks. I can sort of blame myself because I do donate small amounts to political candidates. It’s the other way to vote, for candidates in other states. In any case, politics is very much about the money and we may never get the money out of politics, particularly as that “we” includes the politicians who do pretty well because of the money.

@5 robro, “almost like donation pleas from Warnock.”
Warnock’s solicitations may be irksome, but, would you rather be bombarded by the brain-dead H. Walker. One easy way to limit the avalanche is to create (and use) a separate E-mail address for the barrage of all the unwanted begging.

Of course, the ultimate cure that will never happen is to get ALL money out of elections and lobbying. Corp. billionaires are literally buying our political process.

shermanj @ #6 — There’s no question I would rather have Warnock than Walker. However, I would also rather that all the political campaigns would respect my privacy and not flood my email and text messages with their pleas. Actually, I think all the Democrats use ActBlue, except perhaps the Democrat candidate for governor in Alaska.

  9. says

    @9robro,
You should already know that NO political entity will respect your privacy. please make use of my suggestion: use a separate E-mail address for the barrage of all the unwanted begging. This can work for more than just political spam.

I’d gladly put up with 100x more political spam from Democrats as long as the GQP is prevented from destroying our Democracy.

All US senators are millionaries. Maybe you can donate to Democrats in the House instead.
And local politicians. Check if they are running against some batshit-crazy MAGA hats.
