I hope you weren’t eager to get Dinesh D’Souza’s latest book

D’Souza made a stupid, and clearly debunked, “documentary”, 2000 Mules, in which he claimed Democrats smuggled in crates of faked ballots to steal the election. Now he’s trying to turn it into a book. Oops, a snag.

Dinesh D’Souza’s book version of “2000 Mules,” based on the film that makes widely debunked claims that people were paid to dump fraudulent ballots at collection boxes in key 2020 election states, was abruptly recalled by the publisher Monday, the eve of its release.

Recalled? Publication delayed? You might think that’s a small thing to have happen, except…the publisher is Regnery. Regnery don’t care. Regnery publishes the most godawful stupid right-wing garbage without a qualm.

Now I really want to know what kind of garbage is in the first publication of that book that would make even Regnery gag.

Perhaps, by random chance, there was a sentence in it that was not unethical, misleading, garbage or tripe.

Probably something to do with copyright issues because he plagiarizes text or pictures from the movie.

    Good question.
The fact that it is a book full of lies isn’t the problem.

Everything that Regnery publishes is full of lies. Lies are its only product.

Copyright infringement (which could also be plagiarism) or a serious threat of a libel suit. The former is more easily fixed, remove the infringing text/pictures reprint the book. The latter not so easily fixed unless it is a small section of the book (in which case same solution).

Probably a little thing called a lawsuit. Lawsuits from Dominion and Smartmatic demonstrate wild libels can be costly. There were probably some key claims that made Regency’s lawyers squeal like piggies.

I am told the lawsuit against Fox News is coming up this fall (buys big bag of popcorn).

Obviously Regenery has been taken over by cancel culture™ liberals and child traffickers.

    Article in Science:
“Original and evolution of extreme life span in Pacific Ocean Rockfishes”
    Vol 374 # 6569
You know the kind of basic science that does not immediately result in corporate profits.

But he’s been pardoned his crimes. Soooooo , we should take him seriously?

In the grand scheme, the GOP won’t care. They don’t read books anyway. They watch movies. The movie already made the claims they wanted to make. The only reason for the books was so that they could have their PACs buy up eleventy billion copies of them in order to get it to the top of the NYT Bestseller’s List and then use that as an advertising slogan for D’Souza.

Honestly.. Not sure how it would be phrased, or how viable it is, but there have been attempts, time to time, to crack down on cranks, like scam artists, who use fortune telling, etc., to mislead people, and it seems to me that the logic is the exact same, including why its now an utter failure – its Not enough to just slap a sign up on the door that says, ‘For entertainment only’.”, if nearly everyone buying the service is convinced that it is true, and the “entertainer” is presenting their BS as though it is absolutely true.”

We can’t seem to stop tarot card readers, because of this stupid loophole, and Fox, et al, are 1,000 times worse, yet, despite the fact that “entertainment programs” are, by definition, not “Press”… we apparently can’t do anything at all about them? Drives me nuts.
