You have to stop & think … who would invite Madison Cawthorn to an orgy?

Cawthorn made a surprising admission: he has been invited to an orgy by Washington fat cats he previously admired.

Whoops. We can exempt a whole slew of liberals from the suspect list, since he wouldn’t have admired them. I don’t know what criteria orgy hosts use to select their guests — I’ve never held one or been invited to one, which feels a little bit like an embarrassing admission about me — but I suspect most people on the left side of the aisle find his views repulsive.

So now the guessing games begin. Which Republicans are staging orgies in the Capitol?

(This is not a very titillating thought exercise. If you’re trying to suppress your libido, just picture a Republican sex party in your head, all interest in sex will vanish quickly.)

Yeah, but in the GOP rank and file’s minds, they think supermodels.
Not realizing that they’ll instead get Twiggy’s generation.

  2. ethicsgradient says

Roger Stone, I’d guess. I get the impression he’ll invite delivery drivers to sex parties.

  3. Akira MacKenzie says

Yeah, considering both Cawthrorn and PatriotTakes are unreliable sources that hate the current political system and would LOVE to smear them as immoral and degenerate, I’m calling bullshit.

  4. raven says

    Consider the source.
    This isn’t very believable.
    Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.
    I don’t believe it.

  5. birgerjohansson says

The idea of DC old fat cats in an orgy is enough to make me celibate for life.

  6. Akira MacKenzie says

Besides, there isn’t enough Viagra and Cialis on the planet to keep that party going.

    Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

With these people, even perfectly ordinary claims require independent corroboration.

[W]ho would invite Madison Cawthorn to an orgy?
    Himself.
It’s difficult to imagine anyone else — not even Tuckyo Rose or the corpse of Epstein — inviting that loon to anything where they are not paid, in advance, in rubles.

🤮 cawthorn is such a creep from the misogynistic stories I’d heard about him . Ugh!

  10. Susan Montgomery says

What innate terror does sexual expression evoke in the human psyche? Whenever anyone – regardless of political stripe – wants to make a bad person sound worse the goto is always “lots of sex”.

  11. ardipithecus says

“Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac” – Henry Kissinger. So, if HK could get laid . . .and, one’s horniness is not dependent on one’s attractiveness to others.

Stories like this have been around since before I was a pup, but, I, too, have difficulty believing that anyone would invite Cawthorn.

  12. NitricAcid says

I think Republican sex party would be like a regular sex party, only a) all the young attractive people will have been paid to be there, and b) there are a few old guys leering in the corner, who are tolerated because they paid for it all.

  13. Artor says

What could Cawthorne bring to an orgy anyway? He’s not exactly equipped to participate, so he’d be relegated to being a fifth wheel.

  14. StevoR says

Prnaksetrs -pranksetrs might invite Cawthorne to an “orgy” as a joke maybe?

But it wouldn’t go as he’d hope or expect.

  15. NitricAcid says

@Artor Seriously? You have a very limited idea of sex.

Wasn’t it one of the Duck Dynasty creeps who said that homosexuality was impossible because you can’t have PiV without a P and a V?

  16. seachange says

I do know people who arrange orgies. They’re not as picky as you think they are PZ.
Dude’s lies consistently have lying lies slathered all over them all lying-like all the time though. So I still don’t believe a word he says about him being invited: him asking to be invited, yes.

  17. Hairhead, Still Learning at 59 says

Er, ah . . . . Now, I’m only a couple of months from 65, and I’m going to keep the information-load low here . . . . In my fairly long experience, anywhere, ANYWHERE there is Money and Power there is sex — a LOT of it. And since supermodels and very young, attractive people are less than 1% of the population, that means that MOST sex is being had by the, say, less salubrious members of genus Homo. I have NO difficulty in believing cocaine-fuelled sex parties in Washington, D.C. Hell, even under the strict, Bible-bashing Social Credit numbskulls who ran British Columbia for 45 out of 60 years there were a truckload of juicy horny humping-politician stories!

As for Mr. Cawthorne being invited . . . I wouldn’t believe that so much, seeing as he seems to be the kind of person who would make fun of other disabled people having sex (note to Artor: disabled people have LOTS of sex, too!)

  18. PaulBC says

I find Cawthorn’s entire worldview frightening and repulsive, but… and I don’t want to think too hard about it… he’s got clean-cut boyish face and some people have a kink for disabled people. There are probably a hundred reasons somebody might want him at their orgy. I can totally picture Roger Stone, assuming @3 was intended as a joke. If you add “blackmail opportunity” you can extend it beyond that.

It could also be aspirational. Whatever floats his boat. I mean, compared to everything else I’ve heard about this guy, it’s almost endearing. Is he a science fiction fan? I’m sure he could get some action among fen. Stick to ones who don’t follow politics or the libertarians.

  19. says

Uh… aren’t we being a bit ableist, here? Disabled people are sexual beings, just like abled people.

Now, if you want to talk about his repulsive personality, we’re good to go.

  20. seachange says

I would emphasize here what WMD Kitty #26 has said. Cawthorn’s life and body speak to certain kinks and desires that organizers of orgies do in fact covet. Also there are some =not all= organizers who are not ableist and can discern ahead of time when they invite people to certain of their events who is cool about their particular fetish enough that they can acknowledge the actual humanity of whom they desire.

There’s more “information” about this now, Wonkette has an article about ‘testimony’ and the idea of being invited is more important than being invited. They too are ableist in the interest of humor, I’m afraid. However, they do reify what Hairhead #59 has said. The fact that a lying liar who lies feels the need to make this retraction? This makes it seem even more likely to me that he was in fact invited.

  21. notaandomposter says

I have no doubt that Cawthorn was invited to (and may have actually attended) parties where sex was available either from other guests or ‘hired help’. I bet some of these parties are ‘regular’ political events, i.e. ‘private fund raising dinners’ or other such events. The published stories about Matt Goetz and his venmo ‘donations’ to young women, and his ‘scorecard’ he’d brag about to other congressmen on the floor of the Capital, the scandals in the past about congressional aides, the Clinton/Lewinsky affair, etc. are just a few data points that show what the ‘culture’ is like for at least a subset of the DC elite (how many memoirs written by former politicians or celebrities detail parties fueled by drugs and sex?) Such activities are part and parcel of the political scene (who were Epstein’s ‘clients’ anyway?) Nor do I have doubts that Cawthorn witnessed folks doing drugs (where do some of those ideas politicians come up with come from?) The disingenuous part of his story (in my opinion) is that he was shocked/disappointed that folks he previously looked up to would engage in such behavior- nobody is that sheltered.
