I’m not trolling for sympathy, but we just today had to unexpectedly euthanize our dog after we discovered he had liver cancer. So Valentines Day is never going to be a happy day ever again.

Iliana is a beautiful name for a beautiful little girl.
We choose our fur baby names from science fiction. We have a cat named Leia (also a lovely little girl’s name) and
another named Worf. We used to have one named Dax, after the lovely character in Deep Space Nine who loved and married Worf.

Thank you both. I’m still trying to process this. Duke seemed perfectly fine and happy on Saturday. Sunday he stopped eating and he couldn’t be coaxed into eating this morning, so Dad took him to the vet to find out what’s wrong. They found out, and he didn’t come home.
My wife has named many of her cats after science fiction sources. So she had Galifrey, Mira Romaine, Captain Kirk (a bold hunter), and many others.
@11: Too limiting. I don’t see any reason why a person couldn’t join the Obsidian Order and become an artist. I’m sure OO has a need for agit-prop posters.

I have cats named Mal, Simon, Zoe, and River. Next one, I will name Jubal Early.
My condolences for Akira. I had to put down my cat Cicero a month before the pandemic.
Then I became a host to two semi-feral cats one week before the covid restrictions.
They will never become cuddly and sit in my lap, but have been company nevertheless, creating a background noise of things being pushed over and toys shredded.

@7 Condolences,I had to have two of my cats put to sleep in 2020 within a week of each other.
The vet asked me if I wanted to be with them while they gave them a sedative,so the last thing they saw would be me.
Then they would put them to sleep,I was too cowardly to be with them while she gave them the sedative.
I feel so guilty,I feel as if I let them down.
@7: I had to do the same for my old Meezer kitty Sammy about three years ago. Summer is not a happy time anymore. It sucks.
Personally, I’ve been rather fond of the name “Kestra”, but I have no children so it might just be a name for a kitty.
@25: I stayed for Sammy, but it was hard. Not that I’m not glad I did, but I was an absolute emotional wreck for months. That’s not counting trying to keep myself under control so he didn’t panic.
I still am, just not as severe. It’ll be three years ago in June.

It would have been a surprise if those financial statements were deemed reliable. From what I’ve seen reported here and there, e.g. valuations of properties were basically pulled out of a hat. Trump has been fighting the release of any financial information concerning him or his companies tooth and nail. So it is reasonable to suspect that said information is incorrect, embarassing, fraudulent or all of them.
If Beau of the fifth column is correct, the big funders of the republican party are now actively working against Trump as being bad for business, and McConnell is following the money.
