If MLK were alive today, right-wingers would kill him, just like they did before.
MLK had a dream that some day these maggots would not exist, and then his daughters would be judged on the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Makes you wonder who among the people the right-wing is vilifying today we’ll see the right-wing celebrate in 30, 40, or 50 years time.
Also makes you wonder who among today’s “white moderates” and “white liberals” that King described in his Letter from a Birmingham Jail and his book Where Do We Go From Here – you know, the ones who in today’s era think Joe Biden is doing a good job – will try in a few years or decades to claim to have been at the edge of progressivism despite having spent more time browbeating progressives and fighting harder against anyone to the left of them than they have ever fought against anyone to the right of them. Because, let’s not forget that in his lifetime, Dr. King was disapproved of by nearly 75% of the United States. He was hated in America more in the final years of his life than Trump was during his presidency.

Funny. I feel the same way about all the liberals claiming the revolutionary socialist MLK as one of theirs.
They hated the man while he was alive, didn’t want to make his birthday a national holiday, accused him of being a Communist, a agitator, a phony, an adulterer (likely true) and even, in the case of J. Edgar Hoover, discovered he attempted suicide as an adolescent and hoped to drive him to do it as an adult.
Now that he’s gone, they try to co-opt him as one of their own and make James Earl Ray out to be a Democratic Party agent. The whole idea of America is shameful beyond reproach. I hate it here.
I do not know how to prevent that feeling of revulsion when I hear or read any conservative (by their definition)
the idea of any of them praising MLK does makes me wonder about all of their praise for the founding fathers and others. praising and vocal support of democratic principles seems pretty easy though follow through a little harder for them. At this point I wonder how anyone can still believe the lot of them

Republicans love dead famous people. With a dead person, you can push the idea that they would have supported whatever your agenda is and they can’t contradict you. MLK, JFK, Teddy Roosevelt, doesn’t matter how far a person was from current Republican ideology, their fanbase is ignorant enough to believe the claims anyway.
