Mousehunt

The goddamn cat decided to go on a goddamn mousehunt at 1am last night. She is no good at it. A mousehunt to her is an opportunity to torture a small helpless creature for a few hours. She finds a mouse, pounces on it, and then lets the terrified beast free to pounce on it again, and again, and again. Last night she played this game going around in circles about my bed, pouncing and jumping and thumping and growling and squeaking until I leapt up screaming, chasing the cat with a broom, trying to break this goddamn cycle and get her out of the room.

There were echoes of similarities with the movie, Mousehunt. I was the Nathan Lane character. If you’ve seen the movie, you know you never want to see yourself in any of the humans.

I could also see hints of myself in the Christopher Walken character, except last night I was doing a lot of futile yelling. Yeah, Nathan Lane.

Never heard of it. I’ll have to put it on the list. I liked the Breaking Bad episode Fly, which I saw last year as part of my pandemic catchup viewing. It surprised me to read it was widely hated.

It would be a boring series if every episode consisted of Walter and Jesse trying to swat a fly, but sometimes you can have a minimally plotted character development episode. The only thing I had trouble believing is that a fly made that much of a difference assuming it did not actually fall into the meth cook. OK, Walter was just going a little nuts and that was also part of the point.

I have told you before Doc ,humane mouse traps .Wait until you and the bloody cat are both trying to catch the mouse ,all you need to set the scene is the Benny Hill Music playing in the background .
A fav place for mice to take shelter is the radiator in my hall way ,i have got a photo of three of my cats staking it out
because a poor mouse has hidden inside it .

@6, No dinner? The evil cat will (try to) eat poopyhead, and then go play with its squeaky friends…

Admittedly, that could end poopyhead’s nightly torment. So perhaps there is something to the idea?

So the evil cat is comfortable enough with P Z to play murder with him in the same room?
    Progress!
