I’ve known far too many gun worshiping assholes over the years. Some people go into law enforcement because they want to kill. End of story.

Odd how anyone can mistake an 8 ounce piece of neon yellow plastic for a 2 pound (when fully loaded) black metal Glock pistol? I know the cops around here reject applicants who show any sign of intelligence, but this is beyond ridiculous.

    black metal Glock pistol

This is a minor correction. I completely agree that it’s asinine for a cop of 25 years of experience to confuse a handgun with a taser. However, Glocks are famous for being made mostly out of a special lightweight polymer, unlike practically all earlier handguns which were mostly metal.

Yeah, there was a big panic about glocks when they first came out because some thought they might be invisible to metal detectors.

I figure you probably already searched, but here it is.

The polymer frame is much more lightweight than a metal frame gun. The slide, barrel and slide inserts are still metal […]

Generally speaking, even modern all plastic 3d-printed handguns still need metal bullets, and as far as I know, the still is no real gun that is invisible to metal detectors.

As for the glock, note that its plastic frame shows up pretty clearly AFAIK on an x-ray machine.

Did the skittles thing really happen? Isn’t this a reference to Trayvon Martin? I don’t recall any cop involved in that case or anyone claiming he had a gun. Just that’s what he had on him after legally purchasing them from the nearby store.
