The greatest Republican of all time

I am kind of impressed. Joel Greenberg totally filled out the Republican bingo card: cronyism, graft, gun fondling, sex trafficking, misogyny, pedophilia…oh, wait, he’s missing racism, so far. I’m sure there’s something in his history that will ooze out.

Rachel Maddow explains it all.

He does have an edge, though, being from Florida, and also being best buddies with Matt Gaetz. It’s nice to live in a country that is finally getting around to prosecuting these guys, rather than enabling them.

I saw the headline and thought, “Ingersoll? Lincoln?”. But I see you were going a different way.

    mikeschmitz@2,

Nevertheless, Islamophobia is a form of racism. It results in increasing the disadvantage (up to and including physical attacks) suffered in the Americas and Europe by those belonging to ethnic groups perceived as likely to be Muslim – including Christians, atheists, nones, and those of other religions such as Hinduism and Sikhism. Even white converts are subjected to racially-based attack as “traitors”.

KG@4 I grant you that my point wasa technical irrelavancy. It is a distinction without a difference.

I have to wonder what the tax collector’s budget is. Did he divert funds from legitimate functions like sending out notices?

Criticism of islamism is OK, criticism of a specific muslim behaving badly is OK , vilifying muslims as a group is islamophobia and those who do it should be called out.
(Having said that, it is common that awful islamic preachers use the “islamophobia” card when critizised, just as the Israel lobby will use the “anti-semitism” card whenever someone critizises the Israeli government for their latest land grab.)

Joel Greenberg should have his portrait in Wikipedia as a sample of what right-wing populism leads to.
Trump was a product of the billionaire class, Greenberg is a more common parasite.

birgerjohansson @ #8 — While Greenberg doesn’t appear to be in the “billionaire class” he is apparently from a “wealthy” family. His family operates a chain of 75 dental and orthodontic practices.

Having watched a few sessions of Rachel Maddow’s mad Russia-phobia I am not terribly inclined to trust her but, on the other hand, she is talking about a US politician and not saying anything unlikely.

sez mikeschmitz: “@2 ‘cept Islam isn’t a race”

Somehow, am not real sure that “you used the wrong word to describe my bigotry!” is a winning rebuttal…
