Guess who was pushing and promoting the recent insurrection? A couple of freakish ex-YouTube personalities.
Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes and neo-nazi loser Baked Alaska both live-streamed from Pelosi's office after storming the capitol. Neither have been arrested. pic.twitter.com/HEAQQKQgp0

They were bragging in a livestream about trespassing, and who knows what other crimes they were cackling over. Come on, law enforcement, this is a case where you should be enforcing the law.
hemidactylus says
How does that bode for the ‘antifa did it’ narrative?
Susan Montgomery says
@1 As well as it does for the “We’ve always been at war with East Asia” narrative.
nomadiq says
How they could be simply ejected is beyond me. This level of violent criminality is usually met with extrajudicial killings in the US (if you’re a POC/left, that is).
Truly disgusting.
mamba says
Apparently they weren’t black enough to arrest the “normal police” way.
FFS, the cops were taking selfies with these morons!
If this was a BLM protest, they’d all be beaten and dead by now.
Akira MacKenzie says
@1
Kevin Sorbo tweeted that Antifa infiltrators started the riot.
I also got into a FB fight with a Trumpist last night who used a picture of an outlandishly dressed rioter (i.e. Jake “The Q Shaman” Angeli, look him up) to blame Leftists for yesterday’s events.
LykeX says
I’ll just point out that starting riots and then blaming left-wingers for it, is a time-honored nazi tactic.

The woman who was shot and killed was a military veteran ,and a rabid donald supporter .
Plus she was a alt right conspiracy nut job . Sounds like the alt right has it’s first martyr .
whywhywhy says
@1 Why would they need to have any evidence or truth behind the lie?
They simply need someone else to blame. This is fascism not science.

“Neither have been arrested.”
Nazi-losers who haven’t lost ….

How long will it take to clean up the mess? Given how the police let these terrorists into the US Capitol for hours, where these white-wingers stole and destroyed property, that opened up a LOT of opportunities for someone to also plant bugs or other surveillance devices around in Congress members’ offices and I don’t think the FBI and Secret Service can take the chance that no one tried. While there will be progress at returning to business as usual, there is likely to be a lot of work behind the scenes to establish that the building is secure again, won’t there?
tacitus says
Not surprising Alex Jones hasn’t featured in any of the online footage from the Capitol, even though there are reports he was marching toward the Capitol and even directing traffic outside, telling people to go to the other side. But Jones has more sense than to be caught doing anything obviously illegal, like entering the Capitol building. He has a multimillion dollar business to protect.
And the more fans that go to jail, the more he profits from the coverage.
raven says
These terrorists are well known and easily identified by the huge amount of video and photos circulating online.
<,b>Why aren’t they being arrested for at least trespassing and vandalism?
As many have pointed out, like the Oregon Malheur Wildlife Refuge occupation, there is a huge double standard on how scruffy altright white people are treated by law enforcement versus everyone else.
They arrested far more people at Trump’s inauguration, 234. For doing far less damage and causing less trouble.
On what were basically trumped up charges.
Their case was flimsy enough that they managed to get a whole 0 convictions.
The double standard here is blatantly obvious.
Akira MacKenzie says
To paraphrase a tweet I saw this morning, if only there was a historical instance of a fascist group attacking a government capital building and blaming leftists that we could point to!

Re: Akira MacKenzie @ #13…
I spent a lot of yesterday really hoping that none of the fascists involved tried to set fire to the Capitol building. The obvious parallel is far too obvious.
kome says
Random, and just to be petty and spiteful, but can we call what happened the Beer Belly Putsch?
robro says
kome @ #15 — We could call it the “Hamberders Putsch”, since DJT doesn’t drink (reputedly), or the “Confefe Putsch”.

I am not too worried about the number of arrests yet, concerned yes it was stupid that more arrests were not made at the time and a more spirited resistance did not occur at the time. There is time at least a year to investigate and with all the photographic evidence there are very few who could not be identified very easily. I will wait and see what happens. By their deeds you will know them.

If you punched a nazi storming the capitol you’d probably be shot by a cop protecting the capitol. Not worth it in the grand scheme of things.
That said, the Auschwitz shirt deserves a swift punch and maybe a good kicking-while-they’re down. The translated motto is insiduously wrong. “Work sets you free” (in a spritual sense) would be more precise – a rather obvious lie and propaganda piece for a labour/death camp. This version, “work brings freedom” is, I suppose, the proper americanised version. Deliberately unspecific it could be read as an endorsement of slavery, perhaps with a hint of nostalgia. And a lie, and propaganda, and many other things. Auschwitz just isn’t something you should have wistful thoughts over.
P.S.: No masks except on the cops. Hmm.

@15 Wish i had thought of that .

Qanon stooges were the main set piece, Boogaloo boys, proud boys, nazis and a handful of frothing mouth types in support, per CMPC data.
Maybe I should come out of retirement. I could get them so interentangled that it’d take them a month of Sundays to figure out they got played and the warrants issued.
goaded says
I’m hoping the authorities are just waiting until the afternoon of Jan 20th to start arresting people.

Akira McKenzie@13, whheydt@14,
Who set theReichstag Fire is still disputed. The Nazis may just have used it opportunistically as an excuse for suppressing the KPD.
