I awoke this morning and obsessively checked the counting to learn that Biden has edged ahead of Trumpster in…GEORGIA! OMG. I had to laugh. Trumpy is probably having a “conniption fit”…which is an expression common to my family of southwest Georgia.

My partner said yesterday that if Biden takes Georgia, someone should give Stacy Abrams a medal, although perhaps a job in the administration is a better reward.

Also, someone noted yesterday that it looks like the two Georgia Senate races are headed for a runoff that would determine Senate control.

@robro, by a massive 2000 votes and climbing. That’s gotta burn!

I disagree with the cartoon though. Trumpettes don’t mind people voting, they’re objecting to allowing the votes being tallied. How can their message that one’s vote doesn’t matter if the votes are actually counted?!

I think it is mqre, “Blast it, we missed some of thoso commie–socialist–democrats on the supression sweep. Now we need to stop the count!”

We probably have a non-binary professor of critical race theory here, but I wouldn’t know, because 1) I don’t see faculty in the humanities all that much; 2) I don’t ask people their gender—it is generally irrelevant to the professional interactions I have with them; and 3) the Critical Race and Ethnic Studies faculty listing gives names and ranks, but not gender or race.

It is unlikely that we have an adjunct professor with those characteristics, though—much more likely to be tenure track.
