I’d never heard of Ralph Drollinger before

Can I please go back to my state of innocence?

Drollinger is a minister of some sort who gets together with Trump’s cabinet every week to lead them in the path of righteousness through prayer. Like Trump’s “spiritual advisor”, Paula White, he seems to be a huckster and a grifter who’s there to influence powerful but stupid people.

The Drollinger-led Bible study meets every Wednesday morning with members of Trump’s cabinet, including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, and Health Secretary Alex Azar. Carson and Azar, notably, are members of the coronavirus task force guiding the federal government response to the pandemic.

Vice President Mike Pence, a member of the task force and a listed host of Capitol Ministries, is also tied to the Bible study. Emails obtained by Gizmodo show administration officials coordinating with Drollinger’s group to schedule a session of the Bible study, including the possibility of hosting the weekly event in Pence’s West Wing office.

What could he be telling them, you wonder. It’s all predictable right wing bullshit. The pandemic is all the fault of China, homosexuals, and environmentalists.

“Relative to the coronavirus pandemic crisis, this is not God’s abandonment wrath nor His cataclysmic wrath, rather it is sowing and reaping wrath,” wrote Drollinger. “A biblically astute evaluation of the situation strongly suggests that America and other countries of the world are reaping what China has sown due to their leaders’ recklessness and lack of candor and transparency.”

Neither does he miss a chance to condemn those who worship the “religion of environmentalism” and express a “proclivity toward lesbianism and homosexuality.” These individuals, Drollinger argues in “Is God Judging America Today?”, one of the minister’s posts about coronavirus pandemic, have infiltrated “high positions in our government, our educational system, our media and our entertainment industry” and “are largely responsible for God’s consequential wrath on our nation.”

How many of these loons are influencing our country? Do they think Rasputin was a good influence on Russia, too? I sure hope we can get a president who can grab these scoundrels by the ear and kick their asses out the door.

So these “bible studies” are happening but there’s no way President Adderall is participating. Can you even picture Trump studying anything, let alone one of the most boring esoteric books ever written? There’s a good meme in that. Just find a picture of DJT with a bible and caption TLDR.

Oh, I’m sure he’s participating. He’s picking up and/or sharing grifting tips.

As long as the orange shit gibbon is convinced they’re all worshiping him, I don’t see why he’d have any problem with it.

During the Swine Flu pandemic of 2009, fundie xians died in higher numbers than the general population.
There were several reasons for that, but a big part of it was their core belief in…reality denial.
A lot of them are anti-vax, and the vaccine that was developed rapidly was all a plot by the Deep State and satan or something.

Same thing is going to happen again.
    It’s already happening.

3 days ago – … who attended that event have come down with the coronavirus, according … Thirty-one church members and staff have all tested positive, with more … to take the coronavirus seriously, even as some Christian leaders have …

There are quite a few fundie churches, including some large ones that claim variously that the Covid-19 virus is fake or jesus will protect them etc. and are staying open.
Jerry Falwell is keeping NoLiberty U. open in a city that already has Covid-19 cases.

The largest South Korean outbreak was started by a fundie cult church.
It’s a matter of time until we read about some large cluster of Covid-19 cases in a fundie xian church in the USA.

Drollinger has been leading these Bible meetings for years, in government buildings on your taxpayer dime. I remember when he was just a pro basketball player.

Holding Black Masses in the White House, very concerning. Guess that’s what happens when you get a bunch of people who believe in magic.

Hum. So, “not warning people about a new disease which consequently turns into a pandemic” is both very logical – too much so – and extremely uncreative for a divine reprisal. Also, this should lead to the immediate follow-up question of what the US have been sowing all this time. Particularly the leadership should be very interested in the kind of harvest they’re about to bring in.

Let’s see: Cutting social support, cutting or sabotaging health care, ignoring expert advice on obvious looming disasters. This government’s bounty is going to be a crippling pandemic and recession, death and poverty, isn’t it? And to think I doubted the predictive power of the bible…

Pulled this doozie from Hemet’s recent blog post on this superstitious cur:

It explicitly follows from Genesis 1:26 that mankind is not equal or subservient to all that God has created; conversely he has preeminence over creation and the environment. Properly understood, God has appointed man to be His steward over the earth. Clearly indicative of God’s forsaking wrath is when the abandoned serve the creature rather than the creator. See my previous studies on the religion of environmentalism at capmin.org/biblestudies that detail this aberration. [emphasis in original]

That’s all existence is to Bible-humping trash like Drollinger: You exist to worship the god that created you. That’s all. Nothing else. The only joy and happiness in your life can only come from believing in my god. Everything you do or say is meant to glorify it and spread its worship. Anything beyond that is not just a distraction, it’s blasphemy; it’s a competing religion that seeks to tear you away from my god. Yes, even trying to keep the planet’s ecology sustainable for life is a heresy because it means that you aren’t paying enough attention to my god.

(Besides, Armageddon and the Second Coming is coming up really soon anyhow, so why bother reducing carbon emissions or cleaning up dioxins? Everyone who believes will get a shiny new perfect world and those sinners who recycled and used LED bulbs will get the Lake of Fire.)

That’s the “meaning” they claim would not exist if there was no god. That is the “purpose” that claim religion gives them. Well, if that case, HERE’S TO FUCKING NIHILISM!

They always think it’s because of the homosexuals, but it’s becuase of how they treat the homosexuals. Jesus, I wish heaven was real so when they don’t go there, God can look down and say “I sent so many fucking hurricanes and tornados and floods and whatnot and you still acted like a bunch of dicks. Therefore, you can eat a dick. For eternity”

Well he did look really cool.
Also I bet he did less harm than Putin does.
