Stuff accomplished today!

I accomplished several things this morning.

  • I wrote the final exam for my cell biology class, and got all the photocopying done.
  • I put up our Christmas tree!

Mary left me in charge of decorating it. I think it’s very tasteful.

“I also wrapped presents for her.” Did you get the arachnid hordes to produce masses of silk?

I don’t see how we’ll ever win the war on Christmas with you traitors putting up trees and wrapping presents. Next thing you know, we’ll start getting feelings and emotions.

Did PZ go and piss off the wrong assholes? I keep getting Cloudfare errors. Mehta’s and Coyne’s blog are loading fine by comparison so that and the Cloudfare message indicate server side issue and not my connectivity. Either it’s a transient admin or hosting glitch or perhaps FTB is under attack.

For some reason, I was getting over 9K visitors/hour. I think we were just overloading the engines.

Why would anyone go to Mehta’s or Coyne’s blog anyway?

I hate read Coyne. Waiting to see his reaction to your latest Pinker bash. Outside the wild west comments section Mehta does great work IMO. And he has blog end collaborators.

That is a very poor portrait of a penguin — even a very poor portrait of a surrealist penguin — and there is no cheese (or MUSHROOMS!), according to the mildly deranged penguin. Also, it’s a vegetable, she claims, and therefore decidedly non-canonical, as well as lacking cheese, taste, cheese, texture, cheese, and cheese.

Not really into going all in for Christmas. There were some problematic aspects with Grisham’s Skipping Christmas with the cultural insensitivity toward brown people in Peru but still was like yeah I can grok the financials, debt, and cultural pressure. Ironically the Tim Allen movie version ironed over the more insensitive bits but starred Tim Allen. Both lost the plot at the end about opting out of the expensive and culturally contrived BS. It’s debt, guilt, and the economy really. I strangely feel affinity toward JWs that opt out of the culturally imposed crap. Scrooge I am. Bah humbug!

Is that fake tree of yours shedding microplastics everywhere? Maybe that’s why the mutant spider is so clingy. It’s feeding.

I’m confused. I’ve never seen a spider with a body like that. The fuzzy multi-colored legs are very like some tarantulas but a long cylindrical thoracic sac is not something I’ve seen. Oh well, the bulk of my spider knowledge is old SF films, but still, that looks cheesy even by those standards.
