My confirmation classes missed an opportunity

Everything was working against me. I took Lutheran confirmation classes in about 1970, and Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life didn’t come out until 1983. And even when it did, they cut this scene out of the movie! Tsk. I would have appreciated learning more about the life of Martin Luther.

The reason why ‘the Adventures of Martin Luther’ was dropped from ‘the Meaning of Life’ was because it just wasn’t funny?

I thought this was a very funny piece myself. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

There’s just something deliciously surreal about Martin Luther as a reformed sex addict coming round to look at a friend’s collection of spoons.

Yeah, should have stayed on the cutting room floor – neither funny nor clever.
