Milo rises from the dead!

His rotting corpse has been invited to speak at NYU to a teeming crowd of 14 students.

In a class sure to spook liberals, NYU’s controversial anti-PC Professor Michael Rectenwald has enlisted conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos to speak Wednesday about “the politics of Halloween.”

Apparently, the professor wants the shambling zombie to address the pressing topic of why he can’t dress up in blackface or as Hitler on Halloween without people looking at him like he’s a sick goon with no social graces at all. He just doesn’t get it.

I presume the professor will also show up in costume. Probably dressed as a dinosaur.

I keep telling them to double-tap those headshots. Have we learned nothing for 50 years of Zombie Survival films?

  2. Robert Serrano says

The headshots only work if the zombie has an actual brain. Milo’s head is filled with an unholy combination of cotton candy and excrement.

I see that “anti-PC” Professor Michael Rectenwald has only one pinned tweet on his twitter account, ironically one whining about lefties supposedly tweeting him “invective insults”, and using “vile, degrading language”.

In a further attempt to really drive a stake through irony’s heart once and for all, he also wrote a book title “Springtime for Snowflakes”.

“The politics of Halloween…” Now there’s a burning need. /sarcasm.

And I’m somewhat terrified the zombie survival games and movies were less about entertainment and more about inuring us to the concept of shooting a whole class of our fellow citizens. Ask me again in three years.

On one episode of Reza Aslan’s Believer he hung out with freerange Scientologists and received an auditing session with a skin galvanometer. Part of the session involved “bullbaiting” where the auditor started hurling provocative and incendiary words at Reza.

I figured there’s some utility to such things for people in high conflict positions (cops, politicians, etc). Using such techniques could be either gradual or immersive.

Milo would be perfect to see if the bullbaiting was too successful. Anyone non-responsive to the appearance or antics of Milo was irreparably broken by the training.

Or just bored of his bullshit… Does weary eye-rolling count as a response?

“In a class sure to spook liberals” – “In a class sure to spook anyone who believes in rational thought and a reality-based universe”. There, fixed it for you Prof.

This professor will not dignify a pagan holiday by wearing any sort of “costume” – that would be undignified.

He will appear as he always does: a baboon’s asshole.

Australia is different to the US I guess. A couple of decades ago I went to fancy dress party with my friends. We were all in costume walking the streets. Joe was a very good portrayal of Hitler. I was Judge Dredd. Grant was Jesus on the cross. We had made a cross out of foam rubber. Grant could wNder round with his arms down and some strange tangle of brown foam on his back. When people asked who was meant to be he struck the pose and up popped the fully formed cross. Then Joe would give a Hitler speech that ended with Got mit Uns. I’d arrest dissenters or people that laughed awkwardly. Bags of fun.

Yeah, the totally-not-a-snowflake professor has been very upset that people have been misspelling his last name with a grade school level insult. All he really wants is some political correctness in his favor civility, but those mean old leftists won’t comply..

What I love the most about the whole “politics of Halloween” idea is that there are no politics of Halloween. Most people who see you walking around dressed up as Hitler will wonder what the fuck you’re doing, barring proper context. I’d bet there are lots of FOX news watching conservatives who would still get pretty annoyed at directly seeing blackface. Yes, some Tumblrites I’m sure are discussing the issue, but even those folks are still overwhelmingly reacting, even if arguably overreacting, to broader trends they didn’t make. People like Milo and the rabid fanboys (who won’t fold when people who aren’t them ask them to leave or change their costume) will always conflate normal, non-partisan distaste at someone who is actually making Halloween political by being overtly political dicks. As always, they’re the one politicizing what was largely an agreement most civilized people had that maybe it’s just not pleasant to have outfits that ruin other people’s fun.

Yes, those on the left will point out that everything is at least a little bit political, but Milo and his ilk can’t consistently make that argument, because when it suits their needs they pretend that’s just postmodernist nonsense.

Halloween has been politicised for a very, very long time. It wasn’t all that long ago that far right Evangelicals were up in arms about the day being an evil plot by secularists to make children worship Satan. Now the far right Evangelicals are up in arms about the horrible persecution of being criticised for wearing disrespectful costumes.

Then there is the more mundane politics: Some places have placed legal restrictions on trick-or-treaters. Others have suggested that the date be officially moved to the weekend to make the event safer for children.

Yeah, the Holocaust. My family’s trauma. Such fun.

I thought the conservatives were all about fiscal discipline. Sounds like Milo’s wealth redistribution program went off in an unexpected direction.

“I wanted to see what it’s like to be an oligarch” would be pretty quipalicious last words.
