Alas, poor Milo

You’ve all been wondering what happened to Milo Yiannopoulos, I’m sure. He wants to tell you about it.

You ingrates! He’s responsible for getting Trump elected!

OK, let’s thrash him some more.

Gee, that’s just horrible. No one loves him, no one wants to be his friend, no one wants to listen to him, and gee golly he has to spend a lot of his own money to protect himself from the hateful things he says. That must be so tough. And after all he has done.

  2. rayceeya says

I can’t believe this shit head is trying to play the poverty card. All his precious “wealth” was earned by being part of the Republican smear machine. And now since his declaration for man on boy love, he’s now a broken cog in that smear machine, and he’s oh so sad he’s being sent to the landfill.

MILO!!, wake up, this is what out get for siding with people who think you and yours are subhuman.

You were useful for a time, now you aren’t. Maybe consider joining that “Gay Mafia” you and your buddies are always going on about. If they exist.

  3. mattandrews says

At some point, you realize it’s occasionally better to spend the money on crabs and cocktails.

Christ, I’d be happy with a few fucking paragraph breaks.

  4. garnetstar says

“I don’t advertise my selflessness because I’m not a victim.”

    Apophasis, noun.
    1. in rhetoric: denial of one’s intention to speakd of a subject which is at the same time named.
When apophasis is taken to its extreme, the speaker provides full details, stating or drawing attention to something in the very act of pretending to pass it over.

  5. slithey tove (twas brillig (stevem)) says

poor Milo, want some cheese with your whine? poor baby Milo, know-it-all.

  6. blondeintokyo says

Only 160 likes? Ahahahaha….LOLOLOL…. That is PERFECT.

Thoughts and prayer for poor, poor, Milo. ;)

  7. Pierce R. Butler says

Where else, besides maybe the Cayman Islands, does a millionaire pay lower taxes than in the US?

  8. HawkAtreides says

Two things immediately jumped out at me. First, the “where’s the outrage” segment – every single person he names, himself included, is known for hate speech that incites harassment and violence. Nobody’s busy protesting the treatment those hatemongers receive because those of us who demonstrate for actual social justice are too busy worrying about the problems their words are going to cause for the people they single out (sometimes individually, by name, as Milo has done to trans students). Second, “insane American taxes” – Milo Hanrahan / Yiannopolous / Wagner is a citizen of the UK, where middle-class tax rates are higher than the cap in the US.

At what point will his Stans start realizing that his words never once even have a last-name acquaintance with the truth?

  9. says

It’s so terrible… why, he’s even been forced to go to AUSTRALIA to find work stirring up the rabble.

Could you maybe make it a bit harder on him, so he can’t afford the air-fare in future? Thanks in advance.

    @#7, nomadiq

I vaguely remember a Milo. Who is Milo again?

A cynical elementary school kid with blond hair and glasses who is one of the cast of Bloom County.

Berkeley Breathed is drawing the strip again, on a “whenever I feel like it” basis. The new strips are kind of interesting, because on the one hand, he’s kind of a jerk — there’s a healthy dose of misogyny and “you can’t tell me what to think!!!” anti-respect-for-minorities visible in the strip, but at the same time: he hates Trump with the fire of a thousand suns. The two strands are often at odds.

  11. Holms says

I love the fact that he is calling others “entitled fucking babies” when his entire post is about how much he deserves to be supported.

  12. Rich Woods says

For some reason that cheered me up rather more than I would have expected. I must be a bad person. Bad. So bad.

  13. F.O. says

I saw the text for the first time under the caption “deplatforming works”.
I do hope it’s more that than the pedophilia comment.

  14. cartomancer says

It would be a nice dose of schadenfreude if I could believe a word of it. Unfortunately I don’t.

My guess is he wants a new patio, or a trip to somewhere fancy, and is just trying to milk his deluded hangers on for the funds. He’s a grifter and a con-man – and not a terribly good one at that. He almost certainly doesn’t believe a word he writes.

  15. komarov says

Truly, it’s a travesty when national heroes have to build their own monuments to remember themselves by. You’d think the public would do it for them, out of respect, out of love, and to acknowledge their accomplishments and sacrifices … oh, I’m beginning to see the problem here.

    Re: Cartomancer (#30):

My guess is he wants a new patio, or a trip to somewhere fancy, […]

Or go to a nice sushi place that unfortunately happens to be in a warzone. It sounds like those armoured convoys to the restaurant are really expensive.

The two strands are often at odds. – The Vicar@25

You mean like those people who claim to be concerned for women, ethnic minorities, poor people, gender/sexual minorities, etc., and yet bray about how there was no reason to vote for Clinton rather than Trump?

  17. rcs619 says

It’s almost like if you build up your entire personal brand around being a loud, obnoxious, toxic douchebag, then pretty much no one will like you. Except for a bunch of other toxic douchebags who are probably just fair-weather fans anyway.

Hold up, I need to go find the world’s smallest violin. Where did I put that thing?

  18. Dunc says

What’s that Milo? The homophobic neo-fascists you supported and enabled have cast you aside now that you’ve served your purpose and they no longer need you? What a surprise! Truly, no-one could have seen this coming.

  19. imthegenieicandoanything says

Look up “Little Nazi Shit” in any dictionary and there a photo of MY.

He can fuck off and move to gay-friendly Russia.

  20. Gorogh, Lounging Peacromancer says

    Hahahahaha.

No pity for people who offend and make other people suffer for a living. Cynical asshole.

  21. nowamfound says

he’s a racist fearmonger. who gives a tired old rat’s ass about him? only other racists

  22. wontbehere4long says

I don’t care if this is inappropriate.

I pray he gets brain cancer just like John McCain.

I’ve also always wanted to say that, even though I’m super late to the party, I support the Berkeley Riots.

  23. says

    Cartomancer @30

No doubt there is a lot of exaggeration there, but the last I heard of him he was carrying water for Alex Jones. His circumstances have been severely reduced and it’s fantastic.

  24. Owlmirror says

Seeing this screed does make me want to open my wallet . . . to hire a small horde of children to mockingly chant phrases from it at Milo while pointing and laughing. Preferably female children (because he’s a misogynist) of many different ethnicities (because he’s racist).

I’m too lazy to set up a Kickstarter or GoFundMe, but anyone who wants to is free to take the idea and run with it. “Mock the Milo”, maybe?

  25. lucifersbike says

@6. Hi, UK here. We’d rather not have Milo back, if you don’t mind. Haven’t you got some trackless deserts or immeasurable caves he could get lost in over there?

  26. Frederic Bourgault-Christie says

Michael Albert pointed out after the election that, if we had had Sanders win, we’d have been out in the streets. Even after they’ve won, they keep on being terrified that they’ll lose.

I found that to be an optimistic point until I read the rhetoric of fascists in the 30s.

  27. Gregory Greenwood says

Damn it, wheres my violin. The really tiny one. I suddenly feel an urge to play…

    William Brinkman @ 6;

He can always make a bold statement against immigration by moving back to the UK.

Honestly, we really don’t want him back. If you want a matched pair, we can send Nigel Farrage out there to complete the set for you. Truly, its no trouble…

  28. says

lucifersbike @ 46, Gregory Greenwood @ 49: re: Milo returning to the UK, could you have a quiet word with the Queen and have him made Baron of Rockall or something?

  29. quotetheunquote says

Wow – happily, Milo Y. is not someone who comes to my attention much; I mean yes, I’ve heard of him (mostly in the context of him being dropped like a hot brick with bubonic plague by the far-right, what, a year ago?) but I’ve never read anything of this length from him before. What a waste of breathable air this self-pitying twerp is.

Sen McCain’s death has got me thinking about this: “I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction.” Sad to say, I am probably too old to expect to read Milo’s.
