Well, the Scots ought to get their motors running, because Trump’s coming to play golf and the UK government is going to foot the approximately $5m bill for his vacation. They’re going to have a huge police presence to protect him. Too bad, because in the best of all possible worlds someone would drop him from the airplane over the golf course so he could make a proper impression in the green.

    @ 6 Marcus
There is a blogger here in Canada (well back in Scotland on holidays) and he is looking forward to the chance to use some of the Scots language that he does not get to use here.

I am not sure whether he is looking forward more to visiting his parents or cursing the Orange One while there.

I think everyone in Scotland knows he’s coming. It occurs to me that the UK Gov’t might want draw their police security forces from well south of the Border. Devon, maybe?

@1: “Soon, I would think. It’s dangerously overinflated, and that skin can’t be more than 5 mils thick.”

And the balloon’s is pretty thin, too.

Marcus @ #6 — Any estimate on how much of that $5m will flow into a Trump bank account?

Oh I will love the Scott’s getting trump. He won’t know what hit him. Yassssssssssss!

I just imagine a volley of cabers hitting the balloon….

    Ed Seedhouse @8:
5 mils is how thick we used to laminate some of the signs at the place I used to work, and I’d expect the skin of a parade balloon to be several times thicker than that. (Sure, I guess I could have looked it up, but where’s the fun in that?)
