Paleontologist in training

Raisin’ this kid right.

Weird how when I saw that picture I started making a mental list of all the dinosaur books and plushies I have to get for that kid, right away. Uh-oh. There’s a whole page of robot dinosaur toys I should get. Is he too young?

The proper question is, “Are you too old?” If the answer is “No!” then buy, buy, buy… full throttle.

Well, why not just a few a year? A little prudence might be in order for what is in the parental household. Your household, however, it’s your job to spoil him….

You should be ashamed of yourself!

Nothing but plush dinosaurs until he is old enough to defend himself. A few dinosaur picture books in reserve for when he’s three are not a bad idea.

The Redhead’s niece had a favorite stuffed animal. It was a llama the Redhead had bought for a present. When the Redhead’s sister (an engineer) studied the situation, it appeared that the neck of the llama was the easiest one to grasp and hang onto, as compared to the other animals which had shorter necks.
Sounds like a sauropod or two might be in order.

Good grief, even trainees need to know pterosaurs are not dinosaurs. If you’re going to train a paleontologist, at least get your facts straight.

Thank you yknot. That it took 8 comments before this was pointed out indicates we still aren’t raising kids right. Fair chance, however that by the time he’s six he’ll be able to explain it to Mum and Dad, and start raising them right.

I am partial to “Dinosaur Tree” by Douglas Henderson.

The “Danny and The Dinosaur” books are good and classic.

And when the tot gets older, there’s “All My Friends Are Dead” by Avery Monson. :)

“Is he too young?” Not at all. He will grow into them. And he’ll be forming fond memories with them.
