Great video, Dr. Myers. What I gleaned from it is that species don’t necessarily evolve uniformly from one form to another, but that evolutionary “jumps” can occur, while overlapping forms can exist simultaneously. Unfortunately, that requires complication of thought, which conservatives are incapable of experiencing. It’s much easier to believe that undiscovered “missing links” reveal the fallacy of evolution. And even when those transitional forms are discovered in the fossil record, they’re simply dismissed as deformed specimens.

I notice that one of your references at the end was to Carl Zimmer.
I had the fortune of seeing a talk by Zimmer several years ago in Tulsa. It was quite good.
I went to the OK Virtual Library site to see if Zimmer’s book was available. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. However, the Library is considering getting it and I put in a vote for it.
Excellent video. I thought I understood evolution more or less, but after seeing both videos, I know now I know way too little about it. I look forward to the next one…
