Unless he also privately apologized in a different way, the apology is quite crap:

“I certainly don’t remember the rehearsal for the skit in the same way, but I send my sincerest apologies to Leeann,” he said. “As to the photo, it was clearly intended to be funny but wasn’t. I shouldn’t have done it.”

If he’s denying the rehearsal thing, then what is the apology for? It sounds like a variation on the “I’m sorry if you were offended”.

And the remarks about the photo are even worse: He’s basically regretting that his groping of a sleeping woman wasn’t humorous.

Agree that Al Franken has to go, if any kind of standard of ethical behaviour is meant to be applied to all (i.e. not just to “people whose political views I don’t like”).

And if Republicans want to uphold this same standard, they should insist that POTUS should also resign – at least 16 times over.

    Not holding my breath.

With so much evidence against him, not even counting his own recorded confession of his predatory nature and history of sexual assault, it seems clear that Donald Trump is a serial sex offender and a danger to women. How is this unutterable piece of human excrement still at liberty, let alone holding the office of POTUS? This is a smoking gun – why isn’t he being prosecuted for any of this? Or at the very least impeached as a personage unfit to hold public office? Why is such a monster, if not actively being reward for his crimes, at the very least is suffering no consequences for preying on women for decades?

The message that sends – that repeated sexual assault of women is no big deal so long as you are rich and connected – disturbs me profoundly as a man; I can’t imagine how terrifying it must be for women

I’m sorry. I could only get about a minute in before being too depressed to keep watching. I don’t want to minimize any of this; it’s just hard for me to watch.
