The moose in the picture likes eating apples, so that brand of consumer electronics is likely to play a role in whatever happens.

Also in the latest Laundry novel N’ yarlath-hotep makes a bid for prime minister of the UK. A foreshadoving of what is to come?

The Perseid meteors have just peaked. Maybe one of them brought something. .. unpleasant. .. to Earth?

How did they get the moose to stand still while they whitewashed him? Those guys are BIG and can be mean if you annoy them. And whitewash is a horrible thing to begin with.
Not a omen I would trust.

The sacrifice of Steve Bannon on the Altar of the Great Narcissist looks like a slightly better omen.

Dang PZ, thanks for the nightmares. Anywhere from the end of November to to late April, in Dah YooPee, running across a white moose on the road could be a Yuge Moosetake. I relived the episode of Mythbusters where the artificial moose in the road always went through the front windshield. A brown moose might give one a chance to ditch into a snowbank, which is much softer.

The Naked Emperor is going to reveal to us his new strategy for Afghanistan tomorrow night. It’s very novel. The novelist. And the best strategy any president has ever had for Afghanistan. I see a bright future for Afghanis as they enter a new period of negative population growth.

The bloke who filmed this elk tried for three years. Then one day he was having a break, drinking his coffee and the elk just turned up. All things come to those who wait.

Has nobody else seen the strange markings on its belly? Why are they trying to suppress this?

Corpse flowers are quite cool. About 10 years ago one bloomed at the Botanic Garden on my birthday. That was a special b’day trip into D.C.
