Fun reminder: The Trans Day of Remembrance was on November 20. On the 21st, SNL aired a joke blaming the democrat’s loss on the existence of non-binary people.

Oh no! Yesterday I could read FTB, but today I see only the headline “His one accomplishment so far: salvaging SNL and Alec Baldwin’s career” and the wave-off “To view this site, you need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser, and either the Flash Plugin or an HTML5-Video enabled browser. Download the latest Flash player and try again.”

But the link is to adobe.com, which for nearly two decades has offered me malware-enabled downloads. I won’t expose myself again. Older Pharyngula posts are still readable (for now).

The comedy industry stands to make a fortune during the coming 4 years, at least. They’ve got a great source of material, and not just in TweeterDumb. Almost the entire collection of Republican, and many Democrat, lawmakers will be stumbling all over themselves to get a mention on SNL, The Daily Show, and so forth.

Is my eyesight going, or was Baldwin sporting a Russian flag pin? If so, nice touch.

gearloose: for some reason Firefox has been blocking Shockwave in recent builds; Chrome will still load the plugin.

    Good catch.

    I watched this on Firefox.

In fact, Baldwin’s career has never flagged, if you measure the health of his career by how much he works. Take a look at IMDB.com, he has worked steadily for decades without a hiccup (maybe 2010). Hardly fair to say that his SNL performance as Trump saved his career because it was not in need of saving. Meanwhile, before he ever played Trump once he had already been a regular on SNL, having hosted 16 times over the decades.

it almost seems unfair that the DJT and his administration and all are such easy targets for the humorists . Almost but not quite.

I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: ‘O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.’ And God granted it.

    Триколор?
Oh, seems to pre-date the Tricoleur. So those pesky French stole the idea?

One suspects that thousands of political cartoonists are coming out of the deep depression that the loss of G.W. Bush brought on and are merrily sharpening pencils and sing “Happy days are here again”.

I only just now realized that Alec Baldwin and Adam Baldwin are different people (and not even related!)

I had been vaguely confused how such an asshole could be so funny. Now I know.

to be fair, he also boosted sales of john lewis’ books on amazon by like 100,000% by coming for him on twitter.

gearloose — I just watched it in Safari on a MacBook Air without a hitch. I have updated the Flash Player plug-ins numerous times using the Flash system preference. I have never gotten malware from that process that I’m aware of. I never update Flash any other way as I don’t trust any website that offers to update Flash.

I’m commenting on this site in Safari on a mac without flash installed at all (except for the version that comes built-in to Chrome, but Safari doesn’t know about that).

“The comedy industry stands to make a fortune during the coming 4 years, at least.”

One of the first things Putin did was to kill off regime-critical comedy shows. What I’m seeing so far with regards to Trump’s treatment of journalists who are so much as vaguely critical of him, I have grave concerns for shows like SNL in the coming 4 years.

I now realize it was the NoScript plugin blocking Adobe’s Shockwave.
