Election fraud!

Oh, look here: the Christian Times has exposed a massive conspiracy, tens of thousands of pre-cast ballots for Hillary Clinton stored in an Ohio warehouse, ready to be released and cheat Trump out of his rightful victory.

According to sources, Randall Prince, a Columbus-area electrical worker, was doing a routine check of his companies wiring and electrical systems when he stumbled across approximately one dozen black, sealed ballot boxes filled with thousands of Franklin County votes for Hillary Clinton and other Democrat candidates.

“No one really goes in this building. It’s mainly used for short-term storage by a commercial plumber,” Prince said.

So when Prince, who is a Trump supporter, saw several black boxes in an otherwise empty room, he went to investigate. What he found could allegedly be evidence of a massive operation designed to deliver Clinton the crucial swing state.

Prince, shown here, poses with his find, as election officials investigate.

The article then goes on to state that they don’t actually have any photos of the contents of those ballot boxes, but they have a picture of a sample ballot filled out for the Democrats.

You might be predisposed to be suspicious — wouldn’t this be big news? Why don’t they have any samples of the ballots? You might also look at that photo and be thinking…wait a minute, the words “BALLOT BOX” are just clumsily Photoshopped on, without even an attempt to tweak them into the appropriate perspective.

I bet you wouldn’t even be surprised if I told you that that isn’t Randall Prince. Or that the photo isn’t taken in Ohio. Or that while those actually are ballot boxes, they’re empty.

We know this because the origins of that photo have been tracked down. It’s a stock photo that has been poorly edited of empty ballot boxes being transported in Sheldon Heath, Birmingham, England.

Boy, the residents of Birmingham are sure going to be surprised to learn that they voted to elect Hillary Clinton to the US presidency.

My eye immediately went to that ballot box label on the left that should be rotated approximately 0.9 degrees to the left.

    WHAT I’M FINE

But … I was told that:
in Birmingham they love the Governor…
… so certainly those ballot boxes must be full of votes for Gov. Pence.
Who else could we be talking about?
His running mate? Gov. Wallace from 1968?

  3. Larry Kearney says

That picture of the boxes is as bad as old time cartoons of bank robbers in knit caps, bandit masks, and stripped shirts carrying canvas bags with dollar signs on them.

  4. carlie says

So I looked at the original pics, and apparently “ballot box” was on the original boxes, so it did look almost that bad.

Except that the photo has been reversed and the words re-shopped back on to make it look like they didn’t reverse it, so the point of the photoshopping still stands.

Also in the bigger image of the shopped version at the link, you can see where they used the clone tool or paintbrush to color sample part of a box and scrub out the (now-reversed) original words on all the boxes.

Wow, not only are these people unrepentant fraudsters, they’re also incredibly insulting to their own followers.

The forgerly here is so appallingly crude (I’m particularly thinking of the messy “clone stamping” over the writing on the un-labelled boxes) that a four-year-old could spot it. They didn’t even try to make a good job of lying. I can only conclude that they’ve already ceded the votes of everyone with a five-year-old (and above) mentality to the other side.

(Or, they’re really not so clever themselves. Naaaah….)

  6. says

They couldn’t even be arsed to get the perspective on the text right, or to set up any texturing. Arrrrgggghhhhhhhhh That’s horribly sloppy photoshopping.

  7. tulse says

The Photoshopper also missed the label on the box the fellow is holding, as a bit of the reversed “TO” is still visible.

    A. Noyd:

Why the hell did they flip the image in the first place?

Whoever did that thought it would foil an image search, and make the image untrackable.

It's not a feckin' building; it's the inside of a removals van.

… he stumbled across approximately one dozen black, sealed ballot boxes …

“approximately”? He was in a space where he couldn’t take off his shoes to continue the count?

“sealed”? That word, I do not think …

“stumbled”? Okay, so far I see no reason not to take that one literally.

What disgusts me is that there will be no actual consequences for the Christian Times perpetrating such slanderous lies on its readers and the broader electorate. I suppose Franklin County might have standing to sue, but even then I doubt it.

I am actually aware of one potential case of voter fraud. I got an email from my Dad in Virginia that my voter’s package arrived at their house in Virginia (where I’ve been registered since I moved to Europe), even though I renounced my citizenship last year. You’d think for the two grand I paid the feds would have bothered to tell Virginia that I’m no longer American…

Oh no! Now the alleged ballot-faking people will have to retreat to Clinton Secret Headquarters, which you know is secret because of the sign that says, “Clinton Secret Headquarters” out in front of it.

  17. says

The most amazing part is that those boxes in real life do have the words “Ballot Box” painted on. Whomever faked the photo, first had to half-assed cover (you can see the clone tool marks) the original words then rewrite “Ballot Box” on them.

Friendly note; that link to the Christian Times has a popup-hell spamvertisement in it, so make sure your adblock is on before you go!

  19. vole says

Birmingham (the English one, where the photo comes from) does in fact have a history of electoral fraud in recent years, mainly in the area of postal votes. Though AFAIK this photo was not taken in connection with any such story.

Now you guys know that these folks are true Christians, and true Christians don’t lie. It’s a sin. It’s one of the Ten Commandments, so they have to obey it. Otherwise, their fellow Christians might have to stone them to death, or burn them on the stake, or something horrible like that to get the sin out of ’em so they can repent and be with God for all eternity.

  21. Menyambal says

It’s the inside of a truck, not a building. What Americans call a semi-trailer. As others have noted above, it doesn’t match the story.

Where I vote, they use paper ballots. It would not be possible to slip pre-filled ballots into the system. (The helpers actually show each other a blank ballot and initial it, with the voter watching. (I don’t like the system as done because it could be used to avoid secret ballots.)) Any fraud would be best committed in the reports after the counting process, as it would involve a lot less people.

Meta: Notice that this story not only accuses the Democrats of fraud, but of clumsy execution of that fraud. Some innocent goober just stumbling through life is now the shining hero who defeated stupid evil. (Seriously? Big boxes, labeled, left in a warehouse? I’d have the ballots in a safe-deposit box, packaged as vintage porn.)

I believe David Chaum holds patents on several really clever cryptographic tricks that allow for anonymous ballots, a correct number of ballots (if 1,000,000 vote, you have 1,000,000 ballots, not 1,500,000) and for an individual to verify that their ballot was recorded as cast. Ah, yes: https://www.google.com/patents/US6779727
The problem is that many governments and E-voting machine manufacturers appear to not want to pay Chaum for his idea. Or something. If you’re a conspiracy nut, it’s because they want the option of losing a load of ballots florida-style. If you’re not then you have to contemplate the possibility that democracy isn’t worth a few million bucks to the “democracies” that would rather spend that money dropping it on people in the form of high explosive. The amount that Chaum’s patents would cost, and what it would cost to implement them, is practically a rounding error on the cost of most elections.

The main point being: it’s a solved problem, but the solution is not being employed.

    Giliell:
It’s not just that they lie, they lie so stupidly…
Think about it!! If you’re stupid, you tell a lie that’d fool you.

There’s a categorical distinction between intrinsic and extrinsic stupidity; if the stupid lies work (i.e. influence results their way), they’re not extrinsically stupid.

(Bonus: once an entity’s credibility has bottomed-out, further lies accrue no further credibility loss — a consideration relevant to Trump)
