I wish it were Bernie Sanders who had the nomination, but short of that, I am anticipating a spectacular campaign season, now that the Democratic focus is going to be exclusively on taking out Trump, rather than internecine warfare. Here’s Elizabeth Warren, taking the gloves off and giving us a preview of what is to come.
That’s a thing of beauty. Not only is she sinking Trump, she’s stitching the Republican establishment into the sack with him. This is precisely what we need, to not only campaign against the short-fingered vulgarian bigot, but to wreck the rest of party that’s propping him up.
Warren has had her gloves off for months now (at least on Twitter). It’s fun to watch since the short fingered vulgarian seems to not have any idea on how to respond to her.
Sure, the figureheads will fall. But the base remains.

Glorious! Biden ripped Trump darn well today also. I look forward to more of this when she hits the campaign trail for Hillary. I don’t think we’ll see Bernie pulling any punches either. I just hope Sen. Warren doesn’t get picked for VP (or declines the offer)*. I think she’ll be far more effective in the Senate (at least until 2020 or 2024, wink wink, nudge nudge).
Sen. Warren was also pretty spirited on The Rachel Maddow Show. Rachel spent the whole first half hour interviewing her and much of the rest discussing it.
*My money at the moment is on Julian Castro or Sen. Klobuchar.

I obviously don’t know whether those were the same people or not, but if they were: Why would the dick joke be fine but not using “Drumpf”? Hell, he could be suffering from adactyly for all I care, it’s his positions, policies and fascistoid modus operandi that I have a problem with.
Saganite, while Rubio made a joke about his small hands and then said ‘you know what they say about a man with small hands’ it actually originates from nearly 30 years ago when Graydon Carter, the editor of Vanity Fair magazine, described Trump in Spy magazine as a “short-fingered vulgarian.” No doubt some use it in the sense that Rubio used it, but most mean it literally because Trump is so thin skinned about it, then as now.

@ Saganite, I imagine that it’s because the Donald is perfect in every way so how dare someone make fun of his yuuuge hands. I doubt you will come across a thinner skinned individual than the Donald.
True, he loves to dish it out, but even the slightest criticism or questioning causes him to go ballistic, even towards his allies like Megyn Kelly… I’m just so glad the two made up in time for Fox News to wholeheartedly support the Republican nominee, as is their job.

I agree that the best place for Warren to continue being a leader in the Senate. I think if she was on the ticket, her ability to go on the all-out attack against Trump would be blunted by the need to look more stateswomanlike (not a word, yet, apparently). I also doubt she wants the VP spot anyway.
Clinton needs someone in the next generation she can pass the torch of leadership on to, which is why I suspect she’ll pick someone younger than Obama as her running mate.
I’m not sure everyone at Fox is onboard. Shep Smith and Chris Wallace come to mind. And the one that’s supposed to be funny doesn’t seem that keen on him. Trump’s even gotten some half-hearted pushback from O’Reilly on a couple of things. But yeah, they’re mostly in the bag for him, particularly the morning morons and Hannity.
And I doubt that, on a personal level, Megyn has forgiven or forgotten.

I dunno…same-sex Presidential tickets have a pretty good track record. Actually, that probably will be a factor and Hillary’ll likely go with a guy. And the party would probably rather see Klobuchar on the Supreme Court. But she is being mentioned, and her seat wouldn’t be at risk since she’s from MN, a state with a Dem governor who would name her successor. Castro is my current favorite though. Young, handsome rising party star who just happens to be a member of a demographic group that is seriously pissed at Trump and from a state that happens to have a lot of that demographic group. Romney won TX by like 15%, but I don’t think it going blue this year is out of the question.
The problem is that describing Trump as he is isn’t going to be particularly effective to people who see the Democratic party as dangerously insane and Trump as the right kind of racist.
There’s always the tack of describing how ineffective Trump’s going to be as President; once the walls are built and the gays are locked up and he’s gone to talk to China, are the jobs going to come back? Is America going to be Great again? Obviously no, because that was never the problem. Marginalised people doing well isn’t the reason why there’s less pie for the racist class, there’s less pie for the racist class because Republican allies keep taking the pie.
Obama’s got 51% approval, and while I forget the #’s, Hillary’s got like 7% on Trump. And the angry white male demo is shrinking rapidly. At this time, the demos are in Hillary’s favor, turnout will be the deciding factor IMO.

I must live in a swing state; I have already seen ads attacking Clinton, equating her statements re: her emails with her husband’s statements re: Lewinsky. Absolutely nothing substantive, pure mudslinging.

@10 Saganite: As I see it, the “short-fingered” “insult” is used because it’s ridiculously petty and pointless, and yet Trump ridiculously overreacted to it. It’s about mocking his overreaction to it, though it might have some splash damage against people who are concerned about their finger size. The joke is more acceptable though as those people aren’t the butt of the joke (although this would seem to be the case for those who aren’t familiar with the history, which is something we do have to keep in mind, as your comment makes clear).
As an external observer from north of the 49th, I sincerely hope that this woman runs for President at some point in the future. She’s made of all the right stuff. Love her.
Illinois Republican senator Mark Kirk, who is up for reelection this year, has stated he does not support Trump. It will be interesting to see if this is a single data point or a trend developing.
Kirk is trailing Tammy Duckworth in the polls by 6 points. It won’t hurt him, and may help him.

No, that had nothing to do with what #4 is talking about.
At one point in that speech, Warren noted that Trump boasted about being a great businessman, but that in reality he inherited some money and then kept the ball rolling by cheating people.
There’s backup for the claim that he cheats people. Everyone has heard about that scam, Trump University, by now. Deadbeat Donald was involved in a lot of other scams too, but his main trick was to simply refuse to pay his bills. He didn’t pay dishwashers, plumbers, contractors, etc.
