Prezzy!

It’s not even Christmas yet, and Mary and I got a present in the mail.

pillow

It turns out it has magical properties, too. All morning, this cat we’re fostering (want her?) has been pestering me, clambering about and digging her claws into me and nagging me to feed her, and I sat down next to the pillow, and she fled. I think she had presentiments of her fate if she persisted.

Thanks, Caine!

Before I scrolled down I thought “That looks like Caine work!”
    Absolutely stunning. :)

Ha, I was just reading Caine’s needlework blog and thinking, well, that lovely tentacle cushion would look quite at home in a certain Squidly Overlord’s undersea lair.

It’s a very beautiful, tasteful pillow that somehow takes my mind to tangled and dirty places. (And it scares cats! Bonus!)

What a lovely pillow! Gregory, Caine just linked to a beautiful Horse she is working on…. in the Lounge I think? I shall try to locate it for you.

  5. yazikus says

Gregory it was in the TDome. Caine, if you are around, is it okay for me to share your link here?

It’s amazing how many people saw that beautiful piece of work and thought “must be Caine.”

    Bloody amazing.

Caine has to be the most generous person ever

Really? I heard that (s)he was the most evilest monster in the history of evil monsters.

Now that is a treasure to cherish. Beautiful needlework, Caine! And from a lovely bit of original art from Corvus tristis, as well. I’d definitely recommend checking out her collection of embroidery patterns for those who admire this design.

Absolutely! She does wonderful work, and deserves a boatload of credit.

    That’s amazing.

    Moggie,

I’m now imagining the whole mischief of Caine’s rats creeping out of the pillowcase during the night to take over the house, while the poor cat helplessly watches… If only PZ had heeded the warning and ran away while there was still time!

A soothing embrace of tentacles. Caine may not be posting as much but her fingers are still busy. Great stuff!

The embroidered pillow Caine sent me is one of my favorite possessions. It’s just beautiful, and the perfect pillow to put under your neck for reading in bed. I’ve had it there for at least two years and afraid I’ll wear it out. Her work is one of those almost “too nice to use” things.

    @Alexandra – I saw it before.

I’ve always loved the lawyer-ducky in the bottom-right corner.

Aaaaw, you’re so sweet. The pillow was meant to be used!

Let me chime in and compliment Caine on her beautiful work too! So, uh, chiming in!

I’m not nearly so talented, but the other month I did make a ball of soap out of smaller slivers of leftover soap that I’m pretty proud of.

  17. carlie says

Josh – you could put it in a plastic bag the way people used to do for the tops of furniture. :D

It’s never too late to chime in with an appreciate comment. Or so I’m telling myself. Caine, that really is superb.
