Make a statement on your coffee table

    My coffee table is particle board with veneer: it wouldn’t support anybody’s weight. If you want to make a statement on something, you can’t go wrong with a good ol’ fashioned soapbox, if you can get one.

    I have a coffee table made of four stacks of books and an oak board. It’s be overkill to put a book on top too – that’s what shelves are for.

    I don’t have a coffee table, I just use my cedar chest. It’s very weighty, so I expect one more tome won’t matter.

    Do you have any idea if the editor(s)/publisher made an effort to achieve proportional gender and racial parity among the 100 atheists quoted?

    Based on the list here they don’t have parity but they aren’t all just white guys. There’s at least like five women and two or three people who aren’t white in a sample of 24…

    There are some names on that list that turn me right off. I’d find it hard to enjoy a book about the beauty of the world through atheist eyes when some of those atheists are misogynist liberturd assholes. But I’m kind of shallow like that.
