I supposedly won a coffee mug from one of these shindigs, and they never sent it to me. Hey, Seed Overlords, where’s my “coveted ScienceBlogs labware mug”, promised in your e-mail of 16 October 2007?

That doesn’t seem so much like a survey as it is just an opt-in spam thingie for some online courses or whatever.

Expect mail from ITT Tech or University of Arizona.

COMPLETELY off topic, but I had to share this with you guys…
It seems that christ has p**sed off god for some reason…

What does this prove? Well, by the comments, it’s either an ‘omen’, or divine inspiration on the part of the photographer for taking the pic at exactly the right moment…or could it be proof that this is a naturally occurring event and that lightning strikes are NOT god’s wrath?

I wish the christians would look at this and draw the right conclusion…but I won’t hold my breath!

I think you don’t quite have the hang of the “unfalsifiable” thing.

    Sorry tm, enlighten me ;)

Sorry to everyone else, as well…this link had already been posted on the JEEEbus thread..my bad.

I just meant that the overtly religious think that being struck by lightning from the heavens is a measure of god’s wrath to the unbeliever or sinner…so how ironic then that the biggest (?) statue of christ on earth is also party to a bit of retribution..or is this a comment on idols?

I just thought it to be an interesting image, that’s all.

Well, as the article notes, “Sunday’s storm …did not damage the statue”, which clearly shows that God sent us all a message, reminding us of his presence and his love for his only begotten son. Deny it and you will burn in hell.
