Larry Moran refuses to be assimilated?

Curses — we almost had Sandwalk in our grasp. If only we’d sent the borg queen in a little earlier, we might have overcome his resistance.

Ah, well. There are other blogs to conquer, although I must say the swooning and shrieking and histrionics among the SciBlings as we absorbed yet another godless evilutionist into the hivemind would have been … entertaining. I shall not regard this as a setback, since Larry’s blog will still be promoting a nefarious world-view similar to my own. Bwahahaha!

I have a friend who pronounced ‘scienceblogs’ as ‘scienceborgs’, and genuinely (although briefly) confused when I laughed.

Clearly, this follows from the tenets of population management. You have to maintain genetic diversity, if you are to keep open multiple evolutionary channels. Otherwise, one catastrophe and BOOM, you’re eating lunch with the Dodos. Just imagine, one good earthquake in Scibloglandia and a whole branch of evilus evolutionistus could be wiped out.

I really detest the sensationalistic use of the word “lamarkcism” in connection with epigenesis. To the ill-informed it conjures up highly misleading connotations.

“Not that SB is interested in hiring goofballs on the edges of academia who describe everything in terms of action movies […]”

“Clearly, this follows from the tenets of population management. You have to maintain genetic diversity, if you are to keep open multiple evolutionary channels.”

Screw that, lets slightly alter the first to merge the rejection of the second in a simple phrase: Brains! Give us brains!

Though it might not be in best form to compare ScienceBlogs to a zombie horde. Damn it.

Pardon my test- the old commenting “moderation” problem just cropped up and I’m seeing whether deleting Scienceblogs cookies cure it.

I don’t think ScienceBlog’s standards are quite high enough for Moran. Would you join a club that had Rob Knop as a member?

    Speaking of which:

Mr. Knop wrote a blog post in which he criticized PZ’s attitude towards religion and general rhetorical style. Then when he received a critical response from the commenters, he deleted the post. Then he closed comments on the post talking about why he deleted the post.

Anyhoo, the original post is still there, so if you happen to have a link to it, it can be read. In case you find it of interest:
