Seven small peas do not a dinner make

Orac has another tale of the Hitler Zombie—the unstoppable corpse has met Coulter, Weikert, Kennedy, Behe, Johnson, Strobel, and Taylor and eaten their BRAAAAAAAAINS. Sad to say, that was an awfully thin diet—kinda like getting served California cuisine, a few sprigs of something weedy artfully arranged on a plate, when you’re hoping for a more midwestern meal consisting of large lumps of starch and fat—and the Hitler Zombie is going to be ravenous. He will strike again.

Got it – so these fuckwits can’t actually debate the science, so they will simply try to arbitrarily link evolution to one of the most evil men in human history. Lovely.

“They have brains capable of higher functions?”

Well, since Hitler was a vegetarian, it isn’t unreasonable to think his zombie attacks only vegetative brains.

One of the most ironic things I find about the current trend of conservatives invoking the spectre of Hitler is that the first recorded person to identify that argument as a fallacy was none other than Leo Strauss, the philosopher that many neoconservatives view as the founding father of their movement. Strauss called the fallacy Reductio ad Hitlerum in his 1950 work _Natural Right and History_.

    “Hitler was a vegetarian?”

He is rumored to have been. “Most of Hitler’s biographers have characterized him as a vegetarian who abstained from eating meat beginning in the early 1930s until his death (although his actual dietary habits are sometimes hotly disputed). A fear of cancer (which his mother died from) is the most widely cited reason, though many authors also assert Hitler had a profound and deep love of animals. He did consume dairy products and eggs however.” ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Hitler )

“Most of Adolf Hitler’s biographers assert that he was a vegetarian from 1931 until his death in 1945. However, a few reports indicate that he occasionally ate meat during the 1930s. … Biographers believe that Adolf Hitler’s diet was influenced by essays of composer Richard Wagner which promoted vegetarianism.[1] Writing in 1881, Wagner argued that the original human diet had been vegetarian, but that humanity had become contaminated through racial mixing and the consumption of animal flesh. … “In the early, frantic days of Nazi organizing, he was often too busy to sit down to a full meal. He ate on the run, gnawing chunks of sausage…in September 1931, he manifested an active loathing for meat,” which followed the suicide of Geli Raubal, “the niece with whom Hitler had been in love”.[4]” ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarianism_of_Adolf_Hitler )

Even though he was functional, and exceptionally so in some areas as many other sociopaths, he doesn’t strike me as the sanest person. So I can believe in him eating a diet we haven’t evolved for, and for somewhat funny reasons.

Logically it follows that all vegetarians are sociopaths. :-)

How dare you even compare California Cuisine to the meager offerings of their mental material? Most places in this state fill my belly. What you’re talking about is generally referred to in CA as an “appetizer.” :)

So do I. I guess it means I’m eeeeeviiiilll.

The Tomorrow People had a story in which Hitler was an alien with melting green(?) flesh like that.

Hah! Orac ought to riff on that point! ;-)
