Signs of the Cephalopod Underground

A reader discovered this fascinating graffiti in downtown Minneapolis, near the transit center on Hennepin Avenue.

In Minneapolis! So far from the sea, but I’m not alone in pining for it.

I may have to look this up. This is a travel week for me, as I have to run around taking care of some essential pre-school year duties—I’m actually sitting in the St Cloud mall right now, watching the senior citizens do their laps, while waiting for our car to get some minor repairs and maintenance—and tomorrow I have to run in to the university to attend a meeting and to the airport to dispose of one of my kids for a few weeks. I might have some time to cruise the squid-haunted streets of the Big City for a while.

Hah! I see our forces are spreading! Soon we’ll be able to take on those damn deuterostomes on on their own turf.

Just in case you go searching for it, it’s actually in Uptown, right by the library.

Hmm. Indeed, a “battle”, but on whose behalf? My guess is a local band….

I hope you’re not carrying a pistol; I’d be afraid you might shoot yourself.

There’s also a lot more on the same site

here although I couldn’t find anything by Baffle.

    More Cheers.

    “So far from the sea!”

It’s a kind of urban fantasy reactionary movement. Here in San Francisco, we had a pack of wild horses running around the BaRT and MUNI systems a few years ago. I miss those. These days, we seem to have become overrun with Sasquatch.

OK now… I just moved to Uptown, and I just walked past this thing yesterday! And of course – because we’re all indoctrinated so well here – my thought was, “Gee, if I had a camera…”

So what’s the deal? Did I really manage to transmit this message by sheer willpower alone? Or is Uptown just saturated with pharynguloids?

At any rate, more of these would be a major improvement over the bunnies currently peering down on every other sidewalk.

(Hennepin and 28th, I believe… or maybe 27th? West side of the street.)

    HEY!

At least tell us it’s not worksafe before inflicting kinky cephalopod-ceteacean porn on us!
