One of the ironies of Holocaust denying dumbasses is that their behaviour has the opposite effect from that they desire. If they kept their own yaps shut the Holocaust would get far less press.

With regard to the church burning arrests today:

My niece went to that “college”, after having gone to private fundamentalist christian schools for all her education. I somehow got on her mailing list a year ago, and received a number of emails copying and pasting ugly sentiments attributing all our woes, 9/11, hurricanes, etc., to having kicked her god out of schools, and so forth, you know the whole thing. We had a little altercation about that and it worked out amicably if not resolutely. I am off her mailing list, apparently.

It would seem the “college” despite its moral leanings fails even in that.

The fun part starts now – after all the rhetoric suggesting this was the work of *liberals* bashing the pendulum back, now we find it may be little boy assholes from an essentially white christian college.

I like how these losers “explain” their actions as a “joke” now that they’ve been busted.

Remind anyone of a certain notorious ID peddler and blogger’s explanation for his own bullcrap when he got called out?

If it were ever to come to pass that the charlatans and lying scumballs at the DI got caught with their pants totally down, you can be 100% CERTAIN that their “excuse” would be exactly the same as these Christian-schooled kids: “We were just having a little bit of fun at the expense of scientists, we never meant to hurt anyone.”

    Guaranteed.

It’s even more egregious than that — some TV commentators were theorizing, on no evidence whatsover, that it was probably the work of ‘homosexuals’. So now the wingnuts are left with no ‘others’ to demonize for this. Watch them drop this story very quickly.

Pardon me – I read PZ’s post immediately after discovering the news of the arrests of the southern church burners and I just couldn’t hold my water, given the personal connection.

I didn’t mean to usurp the sentiment of the original post.

At least they’re related though; I think, as GWW does, that the southern church burnings are almost certainly hatred motivated, and so is the Holocaust History Project attempt.

Religion aside, it’s a sick society we’re faced with.

Well, alright, I’ll impeach myself here. I was pussyfooting, I admit it, George, but that’s exactly what I was referring to.

I’d be fascinated to see some actual figures for the number of arsonists who cite homosexuality as their motivation for burning down a building. I’m thinking that in the united states, it might be as many as 10, maybe even 11 individuals.

I’m not the praying type but I am going to wish very very hard that one of these li’l arsonists uses the term “street theater” when his attorney allows him to elaborate further on his motivations.

  9. Great White Wonder says

Regarding the alleged arson at THHP, I wonder if any of the freaks on the fundie blogs suspect the perpetrators are “Darwinists” trying to hide the ugly truth about the “consequences” of their “worldview.”

I mean, that’s what “inspired” the Holocaust, wasn’t it? Isn’t that what the frauds at the DI want everyone to believe?

I think the people of Alabama would be much happier if the arsonists turned out to be a bunch of gay black communist Muslims.

Something tells me it wasn’t a bunch of liberals who torched the THHP, either.
