      Thanks; I know there are western bluebirds in Yellowstone, too, and I’m not confident enough in my bird IDs to be sure I can differentiate.

    Yes, lovely, a Mountain Bluebird indeed!

    Aside from the lack of any “brick red” in underparts, the tone (or is it “chroma?”) is quite different between the two species; the Mountain’s blue is a light, clear, cerulean, while the Western’s is very deep, saturated.
