Welcome to the return of the Danthropology blog. I started this blog in 2014 on the Patheos network where it ran until March of 2017. That blog saw my journey through battling Ken Ham’s Ark Encounter, to my coming in and out of new atheism and uncovering what it was about the movement that made me abandon the blog when I did. Until about 2018 I ran a podcast by the same name, but time constraints drew that to a close and the Danthropology name has sat dormant.
However, today I am thrilled to relaunch on Freethought Blogs and begin a new chapter in my life. I decided to keep the name, first because it still has some recognition, but second and most importantly it fits what I hope this blog will be, which is a discussion and exploration of culture, society, and humans. By this I mean, I will be discussing politics, and exploring my political beliefs. I will be discussing religion and the atheist/secular community, and I will even be discussing other passions like mine such as technology and data privacy.
I chose the name because it lets me explore whatever I like and doesn’t pigeonhole me into one topic.
For those who don’t know me, my name is Dan Arel. I am the author of Parenting without God (now in it’s second edition), The Secular Activist (now out of print), and I have 2 more books coming out on PM Press that I will discuss in due time. You may have also seen my work on HuffPost, AlterNet, Salon, The New Arab, and more.
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you come back and continue reading my work and joining in on the discussions.
